Does this spring mount on the bottom of the washer to keep it from rocking back and forth?

Hi Jasmine, thank you for contacting us. According to our research, two springs mount under the transmission assembly in this model. The part numbers are PS8756993 and PS11763251. A fault in any of these springs might cause the drum to be imbalanced. We hope this information helps!
