Washer will do everything but spin. It will agitate and drain. But will not spin, has new lid switch. Is there any wiring I can test or any ideas?
For model number GTW220ACK5WW
Hello Tony, Thank you for the question. This could indicate a defective Mode/Shift Actuator, PartSelect Number PS16554752. This part switches the appliance from Agitating to Spinning. We hope this helps!

Washer won’t leave wash cycle? It just keep washing. I turn knob to drain and spin and hit start and that work just fine. What is stopping or causing it not to advance in cycles?
For model number GTW220ACK5WW
Hi Rick, thank you for reaching out. Based on the description, the issue is with the mode shifter, part number PS16554752. It shifts the washer drive system between agitation and spin mode. We would recommend replacing the mode shifter to fix the issue. Good luck with this repair!

At first the lid would not lock, I tried to reset, but no luck. It worked except for draining and spinning. I was able to get the lid closed but it still won't work.
For model number GTW220ACK5WW
Hi Steve, thank you for reaching out. Use a multimeter to test lid switch assembly for continuity. When your washing machine is not draining or spinning, it is most probably caused by a faulty lid switch, even when the lid and door are closed. If the lid switch checks fine, we would recommend inspecting the drive belt, part number PS12299369. We hope this solves your problem!

Drain all the water out of the tub with a shop vac Remove rear drain hose and drained rest of water into a bucket Remove small rear panel (bottom left hand corner) where the drain hose connects Tipped washer up about 45 degrees to get underneath it - Supported it with a few paint cans Remove internal drain hose/clamps from pump - w/ pliers Remove belt cover (gray plastic) with socket - 3 bolts Remove wire assembly plug from socket Remove old drain pump with socket - 3 bolts Install new drain pump - 3 bolts - plug wire assembly into socket Reinstall belt cover - 3 bolts Reinstall hose to drain pump (note panel will be inside washer) Feed drain hose panel through hole and reinstall - 1 nut Re attached drain hose to exterior drain plug You are done !
Very simple to repair. Be sure to drain the tub outside or into the sump pump then lay the washer on its side. The pump is right there on the bottom of the basket with 3 bolts. You will also need to remove the belt cover to get to the plug. So simple and saves you hundreds off repair man prices.
