Popping the breaker
The washer was popping the GFI receptacle..The gear case seal was out. The bearing started to make a noise, and it was leaking. On the stator. It caused it to pop. I ordered the parts. I had two removed the bolt on the agitator.. Remove the gear case and unplug the wires to it from underneath. I then removed the stator. Installed the stander on the new gear case and started to put it back together. I made sure I put some antiseize on it when I put it together. It was a little hard to take it apart.

During the spin cycle the machine progressively makes a loud grinding/roaring noise and now has began to make a pausing sound while spinning out.
For model number WTW8127LC0

Hello Edgar, thank you for your question. The Gearcase is the cause of a loud grinding/roaring noise most of the time. After removing the 'tub nut' and removing the components on the under-side, gearcase should come out easily. However it it has seized, you may need to hammer it out on the top of the Drive Shaft. Good luck with your repair.

Error code f7e4. How do I know if it’s the gear case or the clutch that’s the problem? There’s a small spattering of oil on the interior/underneath the washer. Is the control board also at fault with this error code?
For model number MVW7232HW0
PartSelect logo
Hi Mel, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the F7E4 error code indicates that the clutch failed to engage the spin basket in the spin mode. We would recommend checking the washer's clutch, part number PS10064562. It spins the basket during the spin cycle. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!

My washer started making a grinding noise, at first it was only when agitating when the wash plate would move in the opposite direction as the tub. It's gotten worse to where it grinds in both directions. I've taken out the wash plate and it's not striped, and nothing is stuck between it and the tub. Would this be the gear case making this noise. Doesn't make any noise during spin cycle

Would the gear case cause the agitator to not move and whine loudly?
For model number MVW7230HW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Phil, thank you for your inquiry. If the gear case is faulty, it can cause the agitator to not move and make noise. Before replacing the gear case, you may need to check the clutch kit. If it is worn out, you may need to replace it. The clutch kit is part number PS10060062. Glad to be of assistance!

At end of spin cycle machine makes a horrible grinding noise. It only happens @ end of the cycle. Machine works perfectly otherwise. There are no codes displayed. Do we need to replace the gear assembly? Don’t think it’s the clutch because the agitator moves freely.
For model number MVW7230HW0
PartSelect logo
Hi Rita, thank you for getting in touch. Based on our research, grinding sounds can be due to a worn or rusty drum bearing. The bearing supports the drum and holds it in position while it turns. The drum bearing does not come separately. It comes with the outer tub, part number PS12730826. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope that helps!

During agitation there is a chunking squeak also there is a sticky grease all over the rotor and stator. There is light rust on the shaft area. There are light contact marks on the rotor and stator on one side. From my research it looks like the clutch, seal and bearing are all shot! Is this accurate
For model number MVW7232HW0
PartSelect logo
Hello Kenneth, thank you for reaching out. You will indeed need to replace the gear case, part number MVW7232HW0.
