Does this model have a filter that should be cleaned? Sometimes there is a lot of lint on the clothes that have been washed.
For model number MVW7230HW1

Hello Karen, thank you for reaching out. Your model comes with the drain pump filter, part number PS16660526. It must be cleaned regularly. If the filter is clogged, the water from the wash and rinse cycle with all the lint drains too slowly and leave deposits on your clothes. Glad to be of help!

owned this for roughly 6 mos it will not do anything except it says sensing for a few minutes then it say wash complete. From what i’ve read it’s a common problem with this model most say clutch is bad and needs replaced HOW SAD WE SPEND OUR HARD EARNED MONEY ON A “maytag” ONLY TO DISCOVER THEY ARE JUNK AND WONT STAND BEHIND THE PRODUCT OR AT LEAST THE LABOR
For model number MVW7230HW1

Hello Tim, Thank you for your inquiry. Researching your model, we show it can be an issue with the water level pressure hose, the water level pressure switch which is part of the control board, the water inlet valve, the lid lock or the lid strike. You can test the parts with a multimeter. It can also be a loose wiring connection going to the drain pump, so test the connections and look for any loose or damaged wires, Good luck with your repair.

Hello Marc, thank you for your question. The Washer Drain Pump Filter PS16660526. If this is not the to fix the issue. It traps all the dirt and residue from clothes. Often these filters can sit uncleaned causing the washer to smell. You will find it inside the outer drum shell PS12730826. We hope this helps!

Loud when it spins, sounds like it’s going to take off

Hi Tim, thank you for reaching out. The issue is most probably because of the fault in bearings. They come attached to the gear case, part number PS16730208. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this sorts out your problem!

I took the hoses off and lost the blue filter, replaced the hoses and now when it off the water keeps dripping
For model number MVW7230HW1
PartSelect logo
Hi Gale, thank you for your inquiry. The “blue filter” is likely a protective screen that sits inside the washing machine's water inlet valve connection point. Look for any visible debris or damage in the connection port on the machine's back. Unscrew the hose from the back of the washing machine and ensure a rubber washer/gasket is present and properly seated inside the hose coupling. If the rubber washer is fine and the dripping persists, you will need to replace the water inlet valve, part number PS16744968, to fix the issue. Glad to be of help!

Tab on door strike got broken off and washer would not operate without it.
Pushed in on door strike and rotated it counterclockwise, removed broken strike and installed new strike. NOTE: when removing the old strike (turning counterclockwise) it felt like it might break and/or was attached with an screw that I didn't see but it came right out.

Scratches in Surface
This product comes in a bottle with a brush like Liquid Paper. It goes on incredibly easy. A second coat might be needed. I wanted to prevent rust from setting in so I covered the scratches and dings. The paint is a little brighter since my washer is 10 years old but it still looks great.
