Washer plate replacement
As women, myself and my daughter completed this fairly simple repair. The replacement washer plate was top quality and included the washplate replacement screw. Additionally, we purchased a tube of lock tight to further secure bolt placement. The most difficult part of the repair is to disengage old screw and securely replace with new one. Very pleased with fast delivery Excellent customer service and top quality part. Thanks
The washing machine tub wouldn't spin dry. I could hear some grinding when it was supposed to start spinning.
I knew the hub was probably the issue. I also knew it could be difficult to remove the wash plate, as I tried to do it before on another model a few years ago. When I took out the wash plate bolt, and made the decision to carefully smash the wash plate with a hammer and remove it piece by piece, it was very simple to get to the hub and remove it with a screwdriver. The new wash plate and hub took about 10 minutes to put back in.

I noticed that a few dimes and a penny have slipped down and are between the wash plate and the outer ring. I am worried that they might work themselves down into the water discharge system. My question is, can I remove the bolt that is holding the washplate plastic inner ring and lift out the ring to get the coins. I cannot seem to find any information on this. Hello Elizabeth, thank you for your question. It depends on what the issue is. If the washplate is broken it should be replaced. If the shaft that agitates the wash plate isn't moving the issue could be the Part Number: PS6012095 Drive hub kit, Part Number: PS11773169 gear case, Part Number: PS11747978 Drive Belt, Part Number: PS10057144 drive pulley. We would recommend checking those parts before replacing just the washplate. I hope this helps!

How do i know if the washer plate is slipping is cause by the threaded gear in the washer plate or the gear it sits on ?

Hello Kayla, Thank you for the question. I suggest testing the Washing Machine Door Lock Assembly, PartSelect Number PS12704713. The lid switch assembly detects if the washer lid is open or closed and prevents the washer from spinning. Hope this helps!
