This glass lid assembly is a genuine OEM replacement component designed for top-load washing machines. It serves as a protective cover for the tub opening and integrates the lid lock feature to ensure safe operation during wash cycles. Constructed from corrosion-resistant composite plastics and tempered glass, it offers durability and visibility, allowing users to monitor the wash process. The lid is finished in a chrome shadow color and is compatible with select models from Whirlpool, Maytag, and associated brands. Replacement is recommended if the existing lid is shattered, leaking, or experiencing issues with the lid lock mechanism. Installation is straightforward and restores both the safety and efficiency of the appliance.

Only wish they stated in the description that the replacement lid did not come with the arms needed to attach the lid to the washer. Thank goodness I kept the original ones

Broken lid frame at left hinge.
Raised lid to remove two Torx head screws from each hinge. Lid will then lift off of hinges. Installation of new lid was the reverse of the removal procedure. It is best to install one hinge to the lid by removing that hinge from the washer. The lid can then be installed by inserting that hinge into it's spot and then over the other hinge. Install the hinge screws into the second hinge and the job is complete. The lid now closes properly allowing the automatic lid lock to function properly.

I need to order the lid to this model washer. Does it come with installations instructions?
For model number MVWB835DW3
Hello Peggy,
Thank you for your question. There should be two wire hinges and screws on the back corners of the lid, once you remove those you should be able to remove the lid and attach the new lid the same way. We hope this helps!

Hi, what size torx bit will I need to replace my washer lid W11259006? It is t15 screws correct? Thanks!
For model number MVWB865GW0
Hello Angel, Thank you for your questions. The Screw for the lid is # 7 PartSelect Number PS12741703. It is a Phillips Head. We hope to hear from you soon.
How do you remove the hinge assembly from the top lid. I removed the 4 star screws but it is not coming out. The pins at the corners do not come out. Thanks
For model number MVWB865GW0
Hello Rey, thank you for reaching out. According to our research, the four screws go into the holes in the two hinges. After removing the screws, just lift the lid up and it will slide up and out easily. If this is not the case, then you may need to pry up the lid with a little force or you may try to get the lid free from one side first by lifting it up and getting it free from the hinge. Once the lid is out, just slide out the hinges and insert new hinges in the holes. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
