Super easy to install and the wash plate I ordered is a better quality than the original one that broke that came with the machine. The person I spoke over the phone when I placed my order was fast and efficient.

Washer plate stripped where it contacts the drive shaft.
I tilted the washer to access the underside and gently attached the vice grips to keep the drive shaft from turning. I then used my socket set to remove the bolt holding the wash plate in place. I then removed the old wash plate and removed the vice grips before installing the new wash plate. Since the new wash plate engages the shaft (not stripped) I no longer needed the vice grips; it was sufficient to just hold the wash plate with one hand while tightening.

Agitator not working: clothes not clean
It was really easy after watching the videio. I removed a single screw and took the agitator out, You could see how worn the center of the part was. The part that it went onto had a lot of rust built up on it, I used naval jelly and a wire brush to clean it. then put the new agitator on. It has been working well ever since. What's crazy is two repair men told me to
throw out the washer because the repair would be equivalent to buying a new one! NOT TRUE ---- Total cost $115.00. Received it really quickly. Thanks so much!

Non agitator pulsating action ceased
Ordered the parts and followed You Tube DYI clip. This 3YOMaytag top loading washer has had a motherboard replaced and now this. It all works fine for now, I cannot imagine what the appliance tech would have charged. Maytag is not what it used to be.

My washer stopped agitating. The washplate spins freely on the gear but if i raise it up a 1/4 inch or so it catches and doesn't spin. I don't see the retainer. Would the retainer act as a spacer or do i need a new washplate?
For model number MVWX655DW0
Hello Jim, thank you for your question. The retainer does act like a spacer, if you do not see the retainer and the unit is not agitating, you should replace the Hub W10528947, which includes the retainer and new hub (item # 8 and 9 in the diagram). Good luck with your repair!

Hi, I took the agitator off last night to check under it for coins. Now the bolt wont stay tight and it wont spin. Is there to be a washer with the bolt? It was fine till I took that bolt out.
For model number MVWX655DW1
Hi Christy, Thank you for the question. There is no washer but there is a Retainer under the agitator, Part Number: PS11754273. I suggest taking a look to see if this retainer is still in place. Hope this helps!

Hi, i was trying to change drain filter but cannot locate it. Thank you for your help.
For model number MVW7232HW0 WASHER
Hi Bob, thank you for reaching out. Based on our research, the filter is located at the bottom of the outer tub assembly under the basket. To access it, you may need to remove the basket and the wash plate. Once you have found it, un-thread the screws securing it and remove it. We hope this information helps!

How do you test the mode shifter? My washer will not agitate anything but me. Is there a way to check it before buying one? I have a 4 blink error code on the circuit board above the motor and that is what some other sites say that's what it could be.
For model number GTWN3000M1WS
Hi David,
Thank you for your question. To test the mode shifter, you will need to test the part with a multimeter. Here is a link to one of our videos on YouTube that you may reference on how to use one, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWC44fHn0As. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Is the washer plate supposed spin freely when you spin it because when I spin it with my hand it does not catch on the bottom tub but if pull the washing plate up then spin it lock on
For model number MVWX655DW0
Hello Ernesto, Thank you for the question. The plate should not spin freely. I suggest checking the Drive Hub Kit, PartSelect Number PS6012095. This kit includes the hub and the U shape retaining clip. Hope this helps!

My washer plate seemed to be loose causing excess noise during agitation. I pulled the cap and tightened the bolt. This seemed to stop the noise and worked fine for several months. Then I noticed a grease like substance on my load of whites. I pulled the wash plate off and noticed discoloring under it and a grease like substance under the cap. I've cleaned the grease up and purchased a new wash plate since the splines in the one I have seem to be non existent. Since I don't see a seal anywhere in the diagrams, do you feel that the cleaning and new washer plate will solve my problem?
For model number MVWX655DW0
Hello David, Thank you for the question. There is a seal that would need to be replaced but it is only sold as part of the Gearcase, PartSelect Number PS11773169. Hope this helps!

How much the base does this actually agitate? Mine barely moves.
For model number MVWB835DW
Hi Kristy,
Thank you for your question. This washplate should spin both forwards and backwards to help circulate the washload in the tub. If it is not then it should be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

During start fill water coming out bottom
For model number Mvwx655dw2
Hello Robin, thank you for reaching out. If water is leaking out of the washer during a fill cycle, it is likely the water inlet valve or a hose connected to it is leaking. Check the inlet hoses, where the hot and cold water supply connects to the machine. Missing gaskets or a loose connection here will cause water to leak and pool on the floor during the fill cycle. Check the water inlet valves using a multimeter and replace if any of them is faulty. The cold water inlet valve is part number PS12348073, and the hot water valve is part number PS12348074. We hope this helps, good luck with this repair!
