Washer plate replacement
As women, myself and my daughter completed this fairly simple repair. The replacement washer plate was top quality and included the washplate replacement screw. Additionally, we purchased a tube of lock tight to further secure bolt placement. The most difficult part of the repair is to disengage old screw and securely replace with new one. Very pleased with fast delivery Excellent customer service and top quality part. Thanks
Worn out splines connecting transmission driveshaft to agitator.
DIY'er working on a Maytag Centennial type washing machine should be aware that replacing a a transmission or agitator due to worn out splines is only half a job done well. I originally replaced my transmission due to worn splines, only to discover later that the worn agitator splines caused the new transmission splines to wear out at an accelerated rate. Transmission and Agitator should be replaced together, along with a new Agitator mounting bolt. There are plenty of video's online of how to do this repair so I won't get into that here. Just wanted to drop the above sage advice. Transmissions for these washers aren't cheap.

the impellar mechanism wore out so stopped aggitating
Popped the cap , used a socket to unscrew the bolt (it was stripped so ended up having to cut off bolt) Took off old impellar and replaced, installed a new bolt, replaced Cap and it was fixed.

The bolt for the wash plate keeps coming loose, it wont agitate

Hi Heather, Thank you for the question. It sounds like the bolt or the agitator is stripped. I suggest removing the both parts and check for wear. Hope this helps!

I have pilloow case stuck under my agitator i loosened the 7/16" nut in the bottom and i cant pull the agitator up what am i missing?

Hello Marc and thank you for writing.
Unplug your washing machine from the wall before you get started removing the agitator. Lift the lid on your washer to expose the agitator.
Pull the fabric soften dispenser from the top of the agitator. The dispenser is held to the agitator by friction or requires you to lift up on the small ring along the bottom of the dispenser before lifting it from the agitator.
Insert a flathead screwdriver along the edge of the agitator cap and the agitator. Twist the screwdriver to pop the cap from the top of the agitator. Reach inside the agitator to grab the plastic dust cap with your fingers and lift it from the agitator. Some agitators do not have caps, in which case you can safely skip this step.
Connect an 8- to 10-inch socket extension to a socket wrench. Attach a 1/2 inch or a 7/16 inch socket to the extension.
Insert the socket into the agitator to remove the agitator bolt from inside the agitator. Reach your fingers beneath the agitator and lift it from the machine. We hope this helps. Please contact us anytime if you require further assistance.

How much should i torque this washplate screw (w10752187) to tighten it down for my Kenmore top loading clothes washer, 110.22352511? (full disclosure already over tightened one screw and broke it!)

Hello Frances, thank you for your question. Unfortunately, there is no torque specification for this part. The agitator/washplate bolts are usually not extremely tight. A full turn after the both meets with the washeplate is probably fine. I hope this helps!

I need to remove the wash plate (no agitator) to retrieve a penny that slipped down through the gap of the tub. Is this a left hand thread or right hand thread flanged bolt? I can't keep the tub from spinning when I try to turn the bolt, so I want to use an impact wrench to remove it but I don't want to strip or break anything. Thanks!

Hi Robert, thank you for reaching out. We have researched and found that the screw you mentioned is right hand threaded screw. You may need to turn it counterclockwise in order to un-thread it. Glad to be of help!

Trying to unscrew the agitator and having a tough time getting it started because the screw is so tight and it is hard to keep the agitator from moving. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I am replacing my wash plate on my Maytag centenniel washer mvwc555dw0. My bolt seems fine, but i have decided to replace it while replacing the wash plate that is completely stripped out. Should there be an o ring or gasket with this bolt? It doesn't show in the picture of the bolt.
