Top rack was rusted, needed to replace
Ordered the top rack only. had to install all the other parts that were attached to the rack. The adjustment handles were the hardest to install b/c you need to take them apart and they have springs that support the adjustment buttons. It took me about 2 hours to remove and reinstall the handles......they were a pain to work with. I would recommend purchasing the complete top rack that has the complete rack that you just need to remove the bad one from the tracks and replace with the new one.

The oem dishwasher racks were badly rusted. There's no cathodic protection provided for the dishwasher internals and the plastic coating on the racks was inferior.
The replacement racks fit perfectly and my wife doesn't use the vertical adjustment feature on the top rack so I didn't need to transfer it from the old rusted rack to the new one. When I cleaned the filter there was alot of rust flakes. I'm thinking about pitting a rare earth super magnet in the filter basket to keep the flakes away from the water pump impellar and pump seals. I also created a corrosion anode by wrapping aluminum foil around a tennis ball and putting it in the rack utensils holder. When the foil turns black I replace it.

Looking at the rack, I understand it doesn't have the hardware and would need to swap ours to the new rack, but it also looks like bare metal or Stainless steel and not coated like OEM... Can you please provide more information? Is it stainless steel or is it coated?

Thank you for your question. This part is just the upper dishrack. There is an upper rack assembly that includes the wheels as well as the middle spray arm. The part number for the upper rack assembly is PS16223130. There is another upper dishrack assembly listed for your dishwasher. The part number for it is PS12114965. It includes the wheels and the middle spray arm, but it also includes additional tines and supports for the rack. We hope this helps!
