This thermal fuse is a safety-critical component in your dryer, designed to shut off power to the heating element if internal temperatures exceed safe limits. If your dryer isn’t heating or won’t start, a faulty thermal fuse may be the cause. Replacement may require partial disassembly using a screwdriver and wrench. Unfortunately I still have not located the heat issue I have replaced all the parts Whirlpool said would fix this problem. If possible could there be a issue with the main board. The machine functions amazing just no heat

Hi Rockett, thank you for reaching out. Based on our understanding, we would suggest checking the dryer thermistor, part number PS11746740. It monitors and controls the temperature inside the dryer drum. You may need to replace it to fix the issue. We hope this solves your problem!
I have power to the dryer, however when pressing the start button I hear a click and nothing happens. I already checked the control board and no issues there. Do you think this could be the Thermal Fuse? Thanks.
For model number MEDB855DC3
Hi Matt, thank you for contacting us. Yes, the issue could be with the thermal fuse, part number PS11766766. It is a safety component within dryers to shut off power to the heating element if the temperature rises above a specific temperature threshold. If your dryer is experiencing problems heating up or starting, the thermal fuse may be bad and likely needs to be replaced. We hope this solves your problem!

Our dryer doesn’t get hot suddenly. How can I determine if heater or thermal fuse or other part causes the problem?
Thanks!
For model number WED87HEDW1
Hello Rebecca, thank you for contacting us. The issue is most probably related to the thermostat, part number PS11746740. You can also check it with a multimeter; it should read 10K ohms resistance at room temperature. Using a multimeter you can also check the heating element, thermal fuse, and high-limit thermostat by performing a continuity test. A faulty part does not have a continuous path in them. We hope this information helps!
