inoperative ignitor and a dead light bulb
I took out the old and replaced with the new. The hardest part was getting that tiny halogen bulb in that tiny little hole. It took longer to take the oven racks out and put them back in than to make the repairs.
first I removed the 2 screws that mount the element. then removed the lower drawer and loosend the screws that hold the shield in place and removed the shield. unpluged the igniter then replaced the igniter. shield back in place and tightened down the element. repair complete. Note don't handle the black portion of the igniter. to replace the oven light simply remove light cover with a flat blade screw driver and pull out the bulb. It couldn't be easier. Do not pay a repairman for these two simple fixes.

This looks like the bulb for the top oven that I want, 25 watt, 120 volt, but it does not say what the distance is between the pins. As near as I can tell mine is 5.3 mm. Please confirm that this bulb will fit before I order it. Thanks

The bulb needs replaced but I can't figure out how to get to it. I took the screw out that holds the glass enclosed bulb but I can't get it apart to take the bulb out.

Hi Connie, thank you for reaching out. You will need to first disconnect power to the appliance before changing the bulb to avoid a short in the appliance and causing damage and a shock to yourself. Grasp lens cover and pull outward on one side to gain access to bulb. Carefully remove old bulb, by lifting bulb straight out of the ceramic base and reverse procedures to reassemble. We hope this solves your problem!

Ordered bulb for bottom oven. Installed with no problems I thought. The bulb stays on all the time. Press button door button for light to go off but it continues. On/off light button light still stays on. Any suggestions.

If the light stays on even when the oven door is closed and you are not able to turn it off, then you could have a bad door switch or a failed relay on the electronic oven control board. This may reset the control board and the light may not stay on constantly. We hope this helps.
