Plastic tip broke off the insulated flap. Would not seal against icemaker.
Removed two screws from face plate then nudged plate up until it cleared the two top screws. Removed three screws holding the actual kit in place. Gently pulled the unit forward and pulled the water tube out from above the kit, then disconnected the wires connecting the unit. At this time the unit is separated from the refrigerator and you can disconnect the solenoid to remove it. The plunger in the solenoid was a little different from the old one as it connects to the insulator flap bar but Partselect has made a good/easy modification for replacement. Before installation I recommend lubricating the plastic actuator switch. Reverse the procedures you used to access the unit. Very easy.

Icemaker door flap bracket broke
The home service repair through our utility company checked the refridgerator and then looked for parts. Their conclusion is the part was no longer available and we should "just reach into the icemaker when we want ice until we replace the refridgerator.) The refridgerator is a top of the line model and replacement cost is well over $2,000 so that wasn't a good option. So I checked PartSelect and found the part which I received in 3 days, installed it in a few minutes and we're back in operation!

Ice/water dispenser sometimes too slow to cut off.
I unplugged the refrigerater, then proceeded to remove the three screws that hold the dispenser face in position. When I lifted the dispenser face out of the way, I removed the remaining two screws that held the dispenser actuator pad in place. I lifted the unit away and turned it over. No need to unplug any cables. I simply lifted the old pad away, replacing it with the new pad. I re-assembled everything in the order in which I took it apart. Plugged the fridge back in. Tested the new actuator. Problem solved!

Flap on ice dispenser was broken
We put all the new parts in that came with this kit including the Solenoid. It was super easy. I have a home warranty which covered the refrigerator ice maker, however, it would have cost me $75 just to bring out a repairman and then it would have taken up my time to be around when he wanted to come out. Buying this part and doing the job ourself cost me less money AND time.

water would dispense at the door when the ice maker refilled
I shut the water valve and bled the pressure off by using the water dispenser. Removed the four screws that hold the cardboard backing on the unit. Unplugged the power cord, loosened the metal water supply fitting. Then I removed all three hose fittings and dried the drips with a towel. I pushed the electrical plugs off with a flat blade screw driver. Removed the bracket attachment screw and pulled the double valve out. The new valves came with a push-lock fitting for the plastic hoses so I pushed them into their sockets. Put the new valve in and replaced the attachment screw. Reattached the water supply line and the electrical connectors. I turned the water on and checked for leaks. replaced the cardboard backing, and plugged the power cord back in.

Ice maker not producing ice & ice door not closing
After receiving the parts to repair the ice door, I replaced the solenoid and new chute door without problem. Then a problem I had been experiencing for well over a year, re-emerged. No Ice! I realized the icemaker was old, over 12 years and that the Teflon within the wells as well as the contacts for the timer were well worn. The ease of finding parts and the instructions provided by PartSelect, (written, video and users), I would attempt the replacement of the Ice Maker. When I examined the Freezer, I also identified that the Ice Maker shelf and enclosure (where the auger that drives the ice) was broken and barely hanging in place. I quickly identified the additional parts and ordered them. The total repair took about 60 minutes. and was treated to the sound of ice dropping into the bin by early evening. I am very pleased with the service, the quality of the products and the helpful hints from fellow users. I have added PartSelect to my IE favorites and it will be my first stop when I need repairs for any of my appliances.

The foam seal on the ice door deteriorated
The original ice door was deteriorated because of age (12 yrs). This caused humid outside air to enter the ice chute and resulted in a buildup of ice in and around the chute. Ice coming out of the reservoir was impeded and got stuck constantly in the chute. I ordered a new ice door kit and it installed easily. Then I noticed the ice door actuator pad was worn so I ordered that. things are working better now. One thing I learned, If you are replacing parts in a component of a 12 year old refrigerator, replace everything in that component at the same time. Otherwise you will order three different times and pay the shipping fee three times. You learn by experience. PartsSelect was very prompt in sending the parts that I needed. The schematics on the website made it very easy to order what I needed. I just should have ordered everything at once. Next time I will know better. Thanks for what you do.

Small Ice Cubes and hardly any Water at Dispensor
After Watching the Video, this Job was very easy. I moved the Refridgerator away from the Wall, disconnected Power, shut-off water shut-off valve, unscrewed Water Line and caught water in a small pan. Loosened up 1 screw and removed valve, unplugged 2 electrical connections and bottom water line. I cut-off an inch of line and reinstalled the valve in reverse order. Plugged Refridgerator back in and instantly had water at Dispensor. Now the ice-cubes are normal size. Thank-you PartSelect.

ice maker not working.
ordered this part first thinking it was the water line issue. we fixed it and it was not that hard but it did not solve the problem. We ended up ordering the icemaker part and installed it and it works fine now. I should have ordered the inside part first and then the valve but it is new now.
