ice cube chute door would not open
I just followed the directions that came with the part and it was very simple. Saved at least $100 on the repair. Anyone could do this repair. Don't call Maytag.

Clearing an ice jam resulted in a broken ice chute door
This is an easy repair and doesn't take hardly any time, once you can identify the electrical bridals to disconnect and the position of the new ice chute door interface point with the solenoid.
The supplied directions are complete but were quite a bit blurry. The more general dissasembly which is effectively 5 screws and two electrical bridals to remove/disconnect is straight forward. Pay particular attention to the mounting point of the ice door interface with the solenoid. I did it twice because I didn't align the door properly the first time:-)
Much too easy a job than to "call the guy."

Door to Ice Dispenser was broken
First removed the grill from the fountain. Then removed the 2 screws, raised the escutcheon up and off the fountain assembly. Disconnected the power connection to the escutcheon and laid it aside. Removed the 3 screws holding the fountain assembly and disconnected the power supply from it. Removed the broken door pieces. Removed the 2 screws from the solenoid and replaced with new one and replaced the screws. The instructions said to rotate the spring counter clockwise 1/2 turn but I had to rotate it a full turn (to make the door tight when it closed) and insert the end of the spring in the opening of the fountain bracket. Insert the solenoid plunger into the recess of the door strike (the diagram in the instructions helped because this was the part that was broken and I could not figure out where it went). Then I installed everything back the way I had taken it apart.
I am a 61 year old woman and pretty good at taking things apart and putting it back together. My husband usually lets me fix things because I have more patience than him.
I would like to thank parts select for their packaging of the parts and the included diagram.

door wouldn't open to dispense Ice cubes
Easy to follow directions. Got to the part where the old solenoid would be removed and found that one of the two wires the connected to the old solennoid had become disconnected. Reconnected and everything works. Will keep the kit now as backup and instructions in case I need to repair again. Very satisified.

Ice/water dispenser wouldn't work
The repair was really simple - I followed the directions provided. I removed the screws holding the cover in place - unplugged the wiring harness - removed the solenoid and replaced with the new solenoid and door amd reassembled the parts. I wasn't sure if the solenoid was bad since the door was actually broken. I was able to test just using the new door - then replace the solenoid. It was all done in less than 30 minutes. Directions provided were GREAT.

ice would not dispense & at times would not stop dispensing.
First, I took everything apart and replaced only the ice door. Everything worked fine for about an hour and the door started opening and closing on its own. I took it apart again and replaced the whole kit including the solenoid. Everything was fine for less than an hour and then the door started opening and closing again. I took it apart and made sure everything was tightened carefully. Now it works perfectly.

Door would not close properly
Couldn't believe how easy this was. The pictures you provided were perfect everything went exactly as the instructions said. I had to of saved at least $150.00. I would grade my mechanical skills at about a C+ at best and this was an easy fix.
If I need appliance parts, I now know where to go.

The Ice maker only made crushed ice, because the door was not sealing.
First I removed the 5 torx head screws that held on the outside panel. Then I unplugged the 2 electrical connectors to the circuit boards, one goes to the touch pad the other is the power. Then I removed the assembly. I only needed the part that holds on the round door but I replaced all the parts that came in the kit.
With the directions that they sent me with the parts, and since I was the one that took it apart. I was able to fix it in about 20minutes and it worked great.

Ice cube tray would no fill
Pulled out ref. removed 3 screws holding the fiber covering. Removed one screw holding the water inlet, disconected the elecrical and the water line from supply and the tubing going to the water filter.
Then connected water lines and the electrical to new inlet, and attached the new inlet back with the one screw, reattached the fiber backing. All Done.
Note: ice cube tray did not fill immediately...air in water line??? However, after short time all works fine.

On the door ice maker stopped working
Removed the front panel and all associated parts from the water and ice on the door.
My husband had taken everything apart and was ready to order a whole new panel. After reading some of the stories on the website of people having the same problem (no ice would come out, water would come out & not stop or splatter everywhere) we decided to start with the part everyone seemed to have ordered. After ordering the part, it arrived faster than I expected, and solved the problem. It helped reading the other stories so we knew what kind of tools were needed and other helpful hints. I have already recommented partselect.com to my sister in law to help with a dishwasher repair.

Broken Actuator, water/ice switch getting stuck
First, I removed the water/ice fountain panel - remove the 4 screws and disconnect the panel buttons cable. Second, I removed the panel circuit board - remove the two screws and disconnect the two wire connectors. Third, I pulled the water/ice fountain compartment. Removed the broken rubber pad (actuator pad), and installed the new one -- no tools needed for this step. Finally, I put everything back together. TIP: If the water/ice switch gets stuck, even with the new actuator, find a spring that can fit the switch pin that comes with the actuator. I had that problem, and I simply added a small spring.)
