41729042991 Kenmore Washer - Instructions

As others have mentioned, it was pretty straight forward although a bit finicky to get into the tight spots to press out the pins. The little piece of 1x4 block helped press the pins back in. For the right side shock, I had to undo the large rubber hose at the bottom of the drum and also had to remove the sheet metal shield in the back to allow clearance for the pin to come out. There's only 2 screws holding it in so again, not too hard to do.

replaced the two shocks with the new ones by removing the pins that held the old ones in place.

Removed old shock abs. (both sides). The one side, I had to remove the speed control board to access the lower nut on the one shock. Install was fairly easy however, it did not fix the washer. Apparently there was something else (either a switch, the control board or the motor) needs replaced too.

Disconnect power,take water hoses off using pliers,they are really tight,remove 2 philips head screws,pull 2 wire connectors off and water fill hose squeezing wire clamp and sliding clamp back on hose.reverse to install.Works like a champ.

Removed two screws. Removed broken catch. Installed new catch with orginal two screws.

My shocks on the washer were broken, in part because of age, the other is broken spider drum inside the barrel. Was very easy to do the shocks. Unhook water connections and power. Move washer away from the wall. Remove the back cover from the washer. On the left side, you have to remove two screws from the electronics control box so you can gently move it out of the way. Then grab the plastic pin with some pliers and pull while depressing the locking lug on the end of the pin (Very important to depress the lock or you will have to buy new pins) Remove both pins for each shock. I used some high pressure grease on the pins when I put it all back together. Was a quick fix. Unfortunately had to take it all back apart as this was only a small part of my issue with having the stainless drum being broken inside.

Used a screw driver to remove 2 screws. Removed broken latch. Installed new latch with the 2 screws. Works like new. Took about 5 minutes and fixed the problem.

It was so easy to replace. I called a local appliance store and they wanted approx $105.00 to rush the part or $95 to have it shipped from the east coast...I went on your website and with delivery the cost was $16.07. I was thrilled...the existing screws were in very tight so all I needed was an electric screw driver.

The latch arrived in 3 days. What a piece of cake!!! I removed the broken latch and installed the new latch using the same screws in 5 minutes. It works like a charm!

First removed the existing screws by using a drill with screwdriver bit (thanks to Cathy from Mountainview CA for that suggestion) because was unable to remove them otherwise. New piece does not come with screws, so save your screws. The new piece had a burr that kept it from fitting in, but was easily filed off. Then no problems. Ordered on Sunday, arrived on Thursday with regular shipping. Excellent!

Unbelievebly fast. I ordered on Sunday. Part was shipped on Monday and I received it on Wednesday. I removed the 2 screws from the old catch and put the new one in, in about 5 minutes. I had a load of wash running 5 minutes after that.

I removed the 2 screws that held the broken latch together. The screws were a little hard to remove. Once I removed the screws, replacing the new latch was a piece of cake.
