2661532513 Kenmore Washer Dryer Combo - Instructions

Turned off gas and unplugged power. Removed gas line and vent tube. Removed the light bulb. Took the door off. Removed two screws from the top, inside part of the door jamb and removed the top, but not the control panel. Removed the front panel. I took a picture of the wiring that leads to the light to ensure proper reconnection. Unhooked the belt from the tension bar and removed the belt, then pulled the drum out. The cycling thermostat is held in place by 2 "wings" and pressure. Removed connections from old and installed on the new. Snapped the new cycling thermostat in place. Then reversed the order to reinstall everything. Drum, belt around drum then tensioner, connected light wiring, installed the front panel, ensuring proper alignment on the felt in the lower bearing. Installed the top and screwed it back on the front panel. Reinstalled door. Reinstalled the light bulb. Using NEW gas line plumbers tape, installed the gas hose. Installed the vent tube. Have done at least 10 loads of laundry with no problems.

Removing the top and then the front of the dryer went fairly easily after finding the screws. The drum came out with just a little coaxing, does not gets screwed in place. To me the trickiest maneuver was getting my hand under the drum to place the belt over motor pulley and around the tensioner pulley. You must look up an image of the belt routing. It took me forever to figure that out. If not for that, this in a half hr fix. Ps don't forget to unplug the dryer.

It took a while to diagnose the problem. I finally figured out it was the door switch by pushing it with my finger with the dryer door open and starting the dryer. It would run like that, but the switch was not being pressed in enough by the door. I ordered the switch and I should have been able to replace in about 15 min. But the old switch broke while I was removing it and it fell back inside the unit. So I had to remove the top and the front panel to access the door switch. That's why it took so long. If that had not happened it would have been a much simpler repair.

Put part in. Put the door cover on & turned on & it worked. Thanks for having the part. So far, so good.

Took the back off/there were six phillips head screws. Took the protective cover off the Interlock Switches and found the problem. One of the buttons was jambed and would not move. I pulled the switch up and pulled the connecting wires. This took a little bit of doing as the connectors have been set for over 8 years. I used a pair of needle nose pliers. I reconnected the new switch and punched both switches and the washer started. It was an easy repair after that, putting everything back in reverse order.

Easy I followed the video. It took approx. 15 Min. Thanks to the video I feel like I can repair anything. This is not the first appliance I fixed. Thanks to parts select.

Followed the online demonstration on the website when i ordered the part. The video was outstanding and easy to follow. I now have the confidence to make other minor appliance repairs.

We watched the video of how to take the dryer apart and how to install the thermostat...after watching the video it was pretty easy

Unscrewed the top lid screws located in door opening.Removed lid.Unscrewed the front cover screws located at top corners of cover, underneath where the top lid was.Pulled out drum,removing belt at same time.Removed the rear bearing unit,installed new one.Really easy.Took front bearing off front cover,it just snaps on.Installed new bearing,with 4 new slides.Reassembled machine,replacing old belt at the same time.Done.It really is that easy.Spent more time cleaning lint out of dryer interior than actual mechanical work,I think.

I used these two videos to help me clean the inside of the machine, then change the drive belt.

The repair was easy. First I took out 2 screws. Then I lifted off the top. Next I unscrewed 2 to take off front. I leaned off the front and reached in got out old gasket. Replacing new gasket went right around top front panel under the clips. Putting front on and returning 2 screws. Then Same for top. Dryer runs and sounds like new. Dryer would turn on when you pushed the "on" button, but as soon as you let go, it would turn off. Found the plastic door switch cracked (from slamming door closed). Unplugged the dryer. Unscrewed the two screws inside the top of the door to unfasten the top panel. Took the top panel off. Then unscrewed the two screws on the side to unlatch the front panel. Used plyers to take the 3 wires off the switch and slid the switch through the front of the door. Juat remember where the wires go. Then inserted new switch and connected the wires. Vacuumed out the dryer and reassembled. It took about 20 minutes and was easy! If I can do it, you can!!!

Watched the video associated with the repair and followed the instructions, it was easier that I thought it was going to be.
