Dishrack - Rack Only Specifications

A rusty or bent upper rack can make dishes hard to load and may block the spray. The replacement rack provides storage for smaller dishes and slides along the upper rails. First check the wheels, clips, adjusters, spray parts, and rail stops for wear. These items are not included with the rack. Match the rack to the complete appliance model and compare its size and mounting points. Remove all dishes, support the rack while sliding it out, and note where each part fits. After installation, make sure the rack moves freely and cannot leave the rails.

Replaced old dish racks that had rusted and had broken tines.

Took the old wheels, and other parts from the old racks and installed them on the new. The wheels on the lower rack just snap on. Also the folding tines just snapped on. On the upper rack the brackets that hold the wheels have two screws that hold the bracket. I removed them and then installed the bracket on the new rack in the same position as on the old one. The only hard part was getting the old spray arm off the old rack. I had no directions so I had to figure it out for myself. I finally cut the the old rack to get the pressure tower off. It was stuck because of having been in place for more than ten years. Putting the tower and the arm on the new rack was no problem once I had it removed. Total time to do the job about 45 minutes.

Upper dish rack broken tines

This is a Kenmore dishwasher from the 1980's. Will the Whirlpool upper rack part number W11169039 fit? This appliance was used by two people for 20 years and one person for 25. It still works great, so I would hate to buy a new one.

i need to replace both my upper dishrack and my lower dishrack for my Kenmore dishwasher from the 1980's. Tines have broken and rusted but it still runs great. Looking to replace top rack. Did replace bottom rack works great. Video had adjustable top rack. Mine does NOT have adjustable option. I read if mine is not adjustable I need to use old wheels. Your dishwasher does use an upper rack adjuster and roller wheel assembly, part number PS11750255 for the upper dishrack, which allows the rack to be raised or lowered and slides in and out smoothly. If you're replacing the upper dishrack, part number PS12348079, you should be able to reuse your existing adjuster wheels as long as they are in good condition. We hope this helps.
