WARNING!!! This is NOT the grommet that goes on the "pump stem" in the center
I purchased this misguided by the official response to "Doug" on April 17, 2018, which at the time was labeled as "most helpful". This is NOT the little grommet in the center. This is a big grommet that goes no the supply pump. This is #14 in the diagram. (#15 is actually the clamp that holds it). If you are looking for the little grommet that goes on that stem on the central recirculation pump, that part is not available, it only comes fused on the sump, and for replacing the sump you have to disassemble the whole bottom part of the dishwasher, pumps, sensors, valves, hose...even this big grommet. A lot of work, and since you are at it, you might want to replace both grommets. If you need THIS big grommet (#14) only, then it is not so much work, just take out one clamp, one connected cable, and the grommet to replace. But check if your machine has reusable clamps, because if not, you might want to order a new clamp. Good luck!

Dishes not coming clean
Replace motor-pump. All was as advertised plus the surprise of included outlet hose. I didn't have the tool to operate the clamp, it leaked, so I replaced it with a stainless worm gear type.

I have a KitchenAid dishwasher that has a problem leaking from the sump. The technician told me that the seal is not available in the market anymore and that now its sold together with the sump. The model number of my KitchenAid dishwasher is KUDE48FXSS5. Would part number WPW10538166 solve my issue by replacing the current seal I have only without having to get a new sump as well?
For model number KUDE48FXSS5
Hi Abdalla,
Thank you for your question. If the dishwasher is leaking from the area of the sump, then this grommet may solve this issue. If not not you may need to replace the sump. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

I have Kenmore dishwasher Model # 665.13269K114. It is leaking on the bottom from the diverter motor, was told it may be the diverter motor pump grommet seal but not sure what part # this is.
For model number Kenmore 665.13269K114
Hello Laura, thank you for contacting us. Yes, the issue might be caused by a worn-out pump grommet, part number PS11756098. It seals the circulation pump inlet to the sump and helps in preventing water leaks. We would also recommend checking the diverter motor, part number PS5136127. A damaged motor can also cause a water-leaking problem. We hope this sorts out your problem!

I needed to replace the sump and in the process needed to switch the old dishwasher pump to the new sump (plate). When I tested my work the grommet for the pump leaked like crazy. It's in good shape and I think I must not have replaced it propery. It was very difficult to press the grommet back into the "socket" on the sump. I now need to try that again. Can I put a little silicone grease on the grommet to make it slide more easily into place? Any tips on how to properly get the grommet to seat correctly, please?
For model number KDTE404DSP0
Hi Richard,
Thank you for your question. Before starting this repair, unplug the dishwasher from the electrical outlet and turn the water supply off. To change the seal/grommet, you will need to remove the dishwasher from the cabinet. Before removing it from the cabinet, you will need to disconnect the water lines. With the lines disconnected, open the door and pull the lower rack out of the dishwasher. Then use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the dishwasher to the countertop. With the screws removed, you can pull the dishwasher from the cabinet. With the dishwasher removed from the cabinet, lay a towel down on the floor and lay the dishwasher on its back. With the dishwasher on its back, you now have access to the pump and motor assembly. First, remove the screws securing the counterbalance and set it aside. Then remove the wires attached to the pump assembly. Then remove the clamp securing the hose between the sump and the pump. To remove the pump pull it forwards slightly and then pull down to release the tab holding it in place. Then remove the motor to pump seal/grommet by inserting a flathead screwdriver between the seal/grommet and the sump. Before inserting the new seal or grommet, get it wet before installing it to help you push it into place. Once you have the new grommet/seal in place, follow the steps in reverse and reinstall the dishwasher in the cabinet. We hope this helps!

Leaking from bottom of door. Have replaced door gasket seal. Still leaking early in cycle and new seal seems to make door close harder. Suggestions?
For model number Wdf540padw3
Hi Christine, thank you for reaching out. Verify that the door seal is aligned properly. Make sure your dishwasher is level. Check the door latch, part number PS11756967, and make sure that it is aligned properly. Verify that the striker plate, part number PS11756123, has no irregular bends or clogs. Remove the water nozzle and water inlet valve, part number PS12578165, and make sure to clean the opening of the nozzles. Look for clogs in the spray arms, filter assembly, and drain hose. Make sure that the hose has a high enough loop or is connected to an air gap. Also, test the drain pump, part number PS11738151, and verify that the impeller, motor, and solenoid are working correctly. Replace the drain pump assembly if it is damaged. We hope this solves your problem!

Black rubber particles on dishes. Near the sump look like tub grommet rubber particles are in the non drained water. Will a new grommet fix the problem or could the particles be from the door seal?
For model number WDF760SADT0
Hello Jay, Thank you for the question. if the Grommet shows signs of wear, it will need to be replaced. You can also check the seal, it should show visible damage or wear. We hope this helps!
