flawless install
The manufacturer had changed the part number for the control switch, so I was worried that it might not fit or function properly. PartSelect said it would work in my stove and it did. No problem, easy to install and great temperature control.

The burner would operate at full power even with set to low.
The repair was successful. I know the dual element burner was good because it operated at full heat. After installing the dual element control switch, the burner was operating as expected with no further issues. After the back was removed, the dual element control switch was easy to access. After removal of the two Philips screws (and the knob), it's easy to pull out the switch to pry off the two cable harnesses (which are keyed). Removal of the cable harnesses was the hardest part because they come off very hard. I used a flat blade screwdriver to help pry off the harness. Installation of the new dual element control switch was very fast/easy, along with the back cover.

Front dual burner would stay on.
First I threw the breaker for the stove to off. I pulled the whole stove out, removed the back cover, removed the knob from the faulty control switch and then unscrewed the two screws holding in the switch. I then pulled the wires from the back of the faulty switch, inserted the wires into the new switch, reattached the two screws that hold the switch in. I threw the breaker back on and turned the burner on long enough to make sure that both dual elements came on and went off like they should. At that point I reattached the back cover and shoved the stove back onto its' slot. All is well and all went well.

The dual element control switches were no longer regulating the burners properly (either on or off, no in-between)
1. Pull the stove away from the wall and unplug the stove from the 240 volt receptacle.
2. Remove the knob from the switch (it just pulls off).
3. Unscrew the top half of the back plate of the stove and removed (about eight or so screws).
4. Unscrew the two screws attaching the control switch in the front of the control panel (these were hidden by the control knob just removed).
5. Pull out the control switch and detach one at a time the two sets of wire connectors attached to the switch. In order not to confuse which plug goes where, attach each connector to the new switch as you remove them. (Note: the connectors may be quite tight to the original switch; do not pull on the wires but simply work each connector gently until it slides off. They will reattach to the new control switch much easier.)
6. Reinstall the new switch to the stove in reverse order of removal. Make sure that the control knob, when the switch is reattached, is in the off position pointing straight up.
7. Reattach the upper back plate of the stove. For safety's sake, do this before reconnecting the stove to power.
8. Plug in the stove and test to ensure that the switch is working properly.
2. Remove the knob from the switch (it just pulls off).

The burner in the front left that has two sizes only works when the knob is turned to a specific spot. It seems to only run on high when the spot is hit. Is this the correct part that would fix this issue. All other burners work correctly.
Hello Alex, thank you for writing. Replacing the Dual Infinite Switch may fix the issue, but we will need the model number for the stove to see if this is the correct replacement or which one is. We look forward to hearing back from you.

My front right burner comes on, but no matter if i have it on low, med, or hi, it stays on hi. Will this fix my issue? Thanks.
For model number MER8680BB0
Hello Patrick,
Thank you for your question. There are a couple of parts that could cause this issue specifically. You will need a multi meter to be able to test the parts. The first part you will want to check is your radiant element. It should be reading between 0 - 120 ohms to be working correctly. The other part to check would be your infinite (or surface burner) switch. When you remove that part from the appliance, connect each probe from your multi meter to the prongs and then turn the switch to an on position. If you get no continuity then the switch is the issue. Hope this helps!

I have a Whirlpool gas top and the the burner that is a big and small burner together will not turn down, it stays on high, don't know if it is the burner or the switch, please help.
For model number Wfe515s0es0
Hello Craig, thank you for your question. When a burner remains on high and can't be controlled, the most likely issue is the switch. We would recommend replacing PartSelect Number: PS11754687. Good luck with your repair!

Hi Alex,
