Replaced washer plate and screw
Used a pocket knife to remove the cap covering the washer plate screw. Used socket wrench to remove the screw. It required some torque to remove, and it was necessary to hold the tub to prevent it from spinning while the screw was being loosened. Don't order the wash plate screw separately. The wash plate came with a screw.

The spines on the washer plate were worn and allowed the plate to spin freely
Removed old washer plate with 7/16 socket, holding the drum so I could loosen nut. Thought I would have to replace spanner nut, but did not need to. Put new washer plate on and tightened the bolt holding the drum at the same time
