Removed tiny screw from under the microwave that held the lid shut where the light was located. Took out old bulb and replaced with new one. Very easy!!!!

Buying the bulb and doing the replacement my self was the best thing I had done. The same problem happened last year and I had the American Home shield insurance at that time so I called the company and they took three weeks between ordering and replacing the light, they showed me the final bill and it was $240.00....!!! This time I bought the light through partselect, got it within 48 hours and did he replacement myself within 15 min, I followed the instructions on the video and had to do an extra step ( due to the model I have) but I was able to replace the bulb and yooohooo it was working when I reconnect the power... I am a person who never tried to fix any electrical appliance before, but after this experience I will always try to do it myself... Believe me if I can do it and felt it was easy you can do it.... Couldn't find the exact part using the online service but called and the customer service operator got me precisely what I needed - she was fast, friendly and very helpful. I had a great overalll experience.

One screw out - drop panel - remove and replace bulbs!!

So simple, unscrew the hatch underneath the microwave oven, pull out old bulbs, and insert new.

Opened the cover. Removed burned out bulbs. Ordered replacements which arrived fairly quickly. Forgot to turn off power to unit (didn't matter in the end!). Using the bubble wrap the new bulbs came in, I inserted the bulbs one by one into their respective sockets. Not really tricky but the surface light is in the back of the microwave so I had to lean over the stove to get all the way back. Once in the bulbs worked fine. Closed the cover. All back to normal.

Used screwdriver, removed cover, took out old bulbs and replaced with new ones. Couldn't get any easier.

My daughter hand installed bulbs without a problem, took a minute and used a phillips to reinstall the cover. I shopped on-line because I wasted two hours between Lowe's and Home Depot trying to get the right bulb. I did think your postage was crazy high, otherwise glad to get the right bulbs to solve the problem.

took of the cover, replaced bulbs then replaced bulbs. One was more difficult to get in than the other but all is ok now. No more stove stop cooking in the dark:)

the ones below were easy --underneath take out screws--take out old bulb--put in new one--the one inside a little more difficult--but not bad--take off panel on the front of microwave over door--the light is in a metal housing on the right--take out old bulb --put in new--wore rubber gloves putting in new lights--do not want to touch them with your fingers--i just watched the GE video on the parts website and it told me exactly what to do--if i can do it anybody can do it !

Unplug the microwave. Remove front grill and cover by removing 2 screws on top of microwave. You have to look down from the top. I could not locate the screws by feel. Once the two screws are out, remove the grill by sliding slightly to the left to lift out. Open the oven door to facilitate removal. Then remove the steel light cover (1 Phillips screw in the center of the unit) and unclip the bulb holder on the right. Do not touch the halogen bulb when you replace. Reseat the bulb holder and test by plugging in the unit with the door open. Unplug and replace the light cover and grill.

Used new rubber gloves so as to not get finger prints on the bulbs. Hope that was ok. Trying to use a paper towel was a nuisance. Also had to use a mirror to see the slots for the bulbs. This was actually a pain to do especially since I am short and was on my toes to do this. Only the bright light works and before there was a night light and a bright light. So there you have it.

Disassembled the bottom of the microwave in order to access the lightbulb sockets. Unfortunately, 1 of the 2 replacement bulbs broke during the installation process - 1 of the pins broke off while trying to insert it. Now I have only 1 bulb so the light is not as bright as it should be. It took me several trips the HomeDepot only to have to return the bulbs. Fortunately, PartSelect shipped the correct replacement bulbs the first time.

Removed outer cover and then replaced the T. C. O. located on the left upper side if the unit. Replaced outer cover, tested oven. Oven operates normally.
