Dryer would not start due to defective switch
The biggest challenge was figuring out how to remove the defective starter switch. By searching the internet I found someone describing the same problem and that you had to turn in counter-clockwise to remove it.

Start switch did not work
I pulled all the knobs, removed screws and tilted the faceplate, unplugged 3 wires, twisted the old switch to unlock it, twisted the new switch in and guessed where to install the 3 wires because the switch from PartSelect was different. After two attempts at placing the wires on the connectors, the dryer works however it shuts off at a different switch position.

Broken Timer knob
Before ordering from PartSelect I had checked both the original vendor and a local repair shop. The vendor had nothing, said try online. The shop said they could order it for twice the price.

PartSelect sent exactly what I needed pronto. I pulled off the old knob. I pressed on the new knob.
Done.

Had difficulty finding the correct size in any store.
All the stores had either a smaller watt or a larger watt and the book suggested always using the correct watt. I was glad to find it on this sight and it was delivered very quickly.

Cound not set timer, knob was broken.
Silmply replaced the knob. This is the second knob I have replaced on this dryer. This time I bought two for when it happens again. Not sure if it is too much rension in the timer or too little strength in the knob, but is a design problem.

Broken Timer Knob
The fact that the knob on a 3yr old dryer broke was harder to deal with than the repair. It was lift the old knob off (it was very loose) and snugly slide the new knob on. I can get back to reading my book and my wife thinks I'm a hero win-win!
