C221-C Jenn-Air Cooktop - Instructions

I removed the two screws holding the control panel in place with a Phillips screwdriver, pulled the assembly of switches up, and found the number on the old switches. Amazingly on PartsSelect's website I found a picture of the exact switch with the exact same part number stamped on it. I ordered three new switches, and they arrived two or three days later. I removed the wires from the old switch with a pair of needle-nose pliers, reconnected them to the new switch in the exact same places, and had all three of them installed and working perfectly in about 45 minutes or an hour.

unscrew control panel, remove old sw and put in new one. made sure i no mix up the wires. put in grease filter with old grease filter. I did not install the indicator light. More like a 30 yr old electric stove. model numbers are not even registering now. Maytag has parts for it. Have to look around to match up parts. Parts are common so inside the cartridges can be rebuilt with a set of plugs burners and receptacles that match.

This down draft filter was just what I was looking for. The big box stores (Home Depot and Lowe's) do not carry this size filter. Thanks,

Pulled off the knobs,replaced switch, put on the new knobs. Your web site is easy to use, and your parts are first quality. Dave

Turn off circuit breaker to cooktop. Remove 2 screws that hold switch plate assembly.Remove tinnerman nut from old switch using adjustable wrench. Remove one wire at time from old switch to same location on new switch. Return shaft back through hole and replace nut, be careful to not overtighten. Replace control know, turn circuit breaker back on and test. Works like new. Neil

Turned off 50 amp breaker. Removed knob, unscrewed holding nut and unplugged each of five wires from broken switch and connected wires to new switch.

Replacing the switch was quick and easy. It actually took only about two minutes.

I removed the protective grid over the filter and fan, turned the clip that held the filter in place and removed it. I placed the new intact filter for my antiquated Jenn-aire in its place, replaced the protective grid, and am happily continuing to cook on my functional cook top.Thank you.

Old filter allowed too much air flow causing exhaust fan to go off....installed new filter in exhaust chamber...release clip on old filter and install new filter (at an angle) in the exhaust box....clamp down clip on edge of filter and job is complete

Turn off power to cooktop. Lift the broken infinite switch knob off the switch console. Use pliers to remove the hex nut that is under the knob. Then remove the grill over the exhaust vent to expose the two screws that hold the switch console in place. Using a philips head screwdriver, unscrew the two screws and lift the console up as far as the wiring will let you. Push the two little clips on either side of the electrical component you want to replace, to release it from its harness. Pay attention to the wires of the broken switch and pull one off at a time and attach to the new part. I used a knife to pry the wires off the electrical pins. Once all wires are reattached, clip the component into the harness and attach the hex nut back onto the protruding d-stem. Put all back together and test the switch before turning power back on. If ok, turn power on and test again.

Wrap first three fingers of right around old knob. Pull it off and throw in trash. Take new burner knob and slide it onto the stem. Repeat 3X, that is, once for each remaining burner knob. Time to complete job - 45 seconds. :-D

The grease filter was 20+ yrs old and the mesh was falling of the frame. I was very pleased to find this replacement filter (the first filter I received was damaged....placed a call to PartSelect and have a new one the next day). Can't beat service like that!! Thank you, June Patten

Installed the new filter and replaced the knobs in about a minute. Customer service helped me find the right parts for an over-35-year-old unit and the installation of them was elementary and took probably less than a minute. I am in business again, cooking for my family; and my visiting relatives can cook without guessing the temperature (previous knobs were illegible. Recommend this site without reservation. (Received the parts in about 2 days!). A real treasure of a save!

Simply pull off the old ones and replace with the new ones. Problem was finding the correct knobs with the double "s" shaft fitting.The item number indicated by the model number was incorrect. I saw a kit with four knobs on your web site and ordered the kit and not the recommended item. Turned out to be the right move and the knobs fir just fine.
