BX521VCPSR (P1325030W S) Amana Refrigerator - Instructions

I ordered the part and it arrived VERY quickly and was very easily installed. I was delighted that it was something I could do myself and didn't have to bother my husband. Victory! I would order parts from here again if the need should arise.

I have never used the ice maker because I have a well and didn't want to usewell water to make ice. I usually make ice with bottled water.
I decided to try making ice with gravity fed water from a converted water fountain placed on a higher level than the refrigerator, locater in my garage next to the kitchen.
When I looked at the rear of the frig. I saw a copper pipe (on the bottom of the frig.) that lead to a valve, with a plastic tube that went to the freezer. I didn't think that the gravity fed water could go down to the bottom and return to the freezer at the top, so I cut the plastic tube, and fed the water directly to the ice maker.
I only put a small amount of water in my water source because I wasn't shure what would happen. The water filled the tray and the rest of the water went to the container that catches the ice.
I did get one tray of ice. I later found that the valve that the copper pipe went to, has a 7 minute timer that only allows a small amount of water to pass.
My next effort will be to connect to the copper pipe and see if it will allow the gravity fed water to rise to the ice maker. Wish me luck

the shelves are designed to just pop in. So, we easily just put in the new shelf. I was thrilled to be able to easily find, order and replace a shelf. Now my refrigerator is as good as new. I would give this site 4 stars.

Slid the new one into place. The only issue was refastening the plastic holders into which the shelf slid. Once I figured out how they reattached, it was no problem.

Popped the old one out with a kitchen knife and popped the new one back in. It tool less than 15 seconds!!

I pried the old one out with a screw driver and pushed the new one in. I expected instructions in the box it came in but there were none.

My owners manual said to unplug fridge from elec outlet, use a kitchen knife to gently pry off the switch plate
(manual had a pictoral example), unclip the two wire, replace with on new switch and replace the switch. Close
door and plug back in. Open door to check that the lite
works. Walla! It did. Thanks!

Please bear in mind I am 65 years old & it was harder to get up & down off the floor then to change the switch. Was very easy - watched video, unplugged unit. I used the putty knife at the right front corner to work loose, when it came loose had to loose the left side a little. The unit pulled out easily. detached the wired that had a single plug with 2 prongs on it. Attached the plug, pushed new switch into place. There was no way you could place wires on wrong prong. When done, plugged refrigerator back in & checked if working. I CAN SEE THE LIGHT and the food in the freezer now. Thank you for making an easy repair.

Had to remove the ice-maker (also easier than trying to work inside the freezer letting all the cold air out). A few mounting screws and an electrical connection in the back. After it was out you will need to remove the cover (not the superficial cover that just pries off) where the gear is behind it, just far enough so you can get the mounting tabs on the ice-stripper in. In order to to move this cover out, after removing the screws (the obvious), you'll need needle nose pliers to ever so slightly squeeze the plastic clips together that hold the plastic movable bracket and the metal ice level arm/switch, so it will pop out. Once you have room to put the ice stripper in, it should just all snap back together, then proceed in reverse to put it all back together.

I tried to remove the old light switch using a putty knife and a hammer. It was hard to compress the plastic tabs to pull it back through the hole, but all of a sudden, the lights came on. I guess banging on the switch freed-up the contacts. The new switch is now a spare part in case I need it.

your video was somewhat helpful. it showed a hinged freezer door, the replacement was for a pull out freezer door. had to remove the door from the freezer and then remove old gasket, removed all 32 hex heads and removed basket brackets, lifted inside off door, replaced gasket, and finished assembly. success

Well, that was fun. Just finished replacing the broken seal on wifey's freezer. While at it, I cleaned all the inserts, fridge/freezer inside and out, floor behind and under, forgot where all the slider/shelve things came out of, leveled the repaired unit, and am testing to see if it gets cold. Seal replacement job was one hour, total project was three days. All I say is "it better work for another eight years!"

I removed the bottom compartment completely from the refrigerator , making the job much easier. I removed all the screws and then set the gasket starting with the corners making sure the inner groove of the gasket sat inside the bottom lip . I used a putty knife to raise up the tray that has this lip and slightly working the gasket down into position with my finger Do Not use the putty knife to set the gasket. When the gasket was set on one side I added a few screws to keep the gasket from popping out of place. When finished I used a hair dryer on one side to help conform the gasket to make contact with the fridge. The unit is running fine with no problems. The install job took me 1hr and 15Min

Sorry for delay in writing. Part I ordered arrived two days ago and it was exactly what I needed. Knowing that there will be problems even with the smallest job I procrastinated starting. When I did start this morning I foud I had to completely remove the ice maker and disassemble it in order to install the water fill cup bracket. The challenge was reassembling the unit. Not hard for an experienced repairman but a challenge for layman. Everything is thing is back to gether now and power on cooling down the refrigerator. Won't know how successful it was until turn on water and ice is formed. If it works this saved $75 just to get a Sears repairman to come out and tell me what would be needed to fix the refrigerator and $1,000 if I had to buy a new refrigerator. Extremely satisfied with service I received. Thank you.
