61004753 Kenmore Refrigerator - Instructions

Removed the front panel and all associated parts from the water and ice on the door.

My husband had taken everything apart and was ready to order a whole new panel. After reading some of the stories on the website of people having the same problem (no ice would come out, water would come out & not stop or splatter everywhere) we decided to start with the part everyone seemed to have ordered. After ordering the part, it arrived faster than I expected, and solved the problem. It helped reading the other stories so we knew what kind of tools were needed and other helpful hints. I have already recommented partselect.com to my sister in law to help with a dishwasher repair.

I removed the outer cover from the door, removed the broken parts, and cleaned the area of debris. After cutting off the power, I replaced the solenoid and door, then prepalce the outer cover. The parts were delivered promptly, and the job when very well.

Replaced flapper, and solenoid per the instructions. It was much easier than I had anticipated. The hardest part was reconnecting the control wire to the front panel. Not much room to get your hands in there, but it finally went together...

Followed instruction provided. Ice door only part required.

Parts came 2 days after I ordered. Followed the included instructions, removed 4 screws, snapped the new flapper into place, put the screws back and voila - REPAIR COMPLETE!! One of the simplest appliance repairs I could imagine. Thanks Partselect!

Ironically, I had jury rigged a new tab on the ice door by inserting a screw into where the tab snapped off, but it didn't work! As I was taking it apart this time, I realized that the solenoid spring had become unclipped. However, it's nice to have it all back together again and working with new parts!

I watched video for repair, when the part arrived it was a snap to repair.

My part was received in only 3 days. It was exactly what I need. The directions sent with the ice door were really simple to follow. Within 30 minutes my family was back to getting ice from the refridgerator door. Nobody wants anything to tear up, but I hope if I do have troubles in the future, it's something that partselect carries parts for. These days it's hard to find a business that gives you want you want, quickly, for a fair price. If you were a movie I would give you two thumbs up. Ice Dispense Repair on front door:
Just followed the directions to remove that front panel, removed the screws, as needed, to take out the unit. The new parts installed easily, in fact, much easier than I thought it would be. Just re-assembled unit and was back in business...

The repair was easy following the instructions provided with repai kit. pictures were a little blurry but other wise very helpful.

I went to your site thinking the problem was lack of electronic/elec signal. Wrong! I then was guided to your "ice door repair kit". I only then realized(after viewing the repair video) that ice door SOLENOID failure was far more likely than elec circuitry failure.Since it was inexpensive I ordered the kit......gambling that it would fix it; and it did! On my first try I installed the close-door spring wrong but then reviewed the video and instantly saw my error and corrected it. I also got an elec nibble (shock) once because I hadn't disconnected as the video said to do. Good parts,good information, timely response! "Piece of Cake"! Cheers John Taylor
