"This is a spark plug for your trimmer. It is what creates the spark inside the trimmers engine that allows combustion. Common symptoms that might indicate a need for a replacement is a hard start engine that misfires or won't run at all. If the spark plug has any built-up oil, noticeable damage, melting, or signs of corrosion, it will need to be replaced. For this repair, you'll start by pulling the boot off that covers the spark plug. Use a socket wrench to remove the spark plug. Before you begin to install your new spark plug, make sure the gap between the electrode and the strap is correct. You will need to use a gapping tool to do this. Position the new part into place by rotating it with your hands and securing it with the socket wrench. Place the boot back over top of the spark plug. "
