Easy repair and great “upgrade” to the water inlet.
Original tube leaked at the Parker fitting. Followed the YouTube video on how to repair and it was very easy. What I like about it thought is the new tube is approx. 3 feet longer then the original install. I was able to connect to the main water line, brace it to the wall and plenty of length to move the fridge in and out without it obstructing.

There was a pin size hole in the tube.
It was pretty easy to install. The most difficult part was trying to get my hands into the small area to work. I had to use both hands, one to push the release in and the other to pull the tube out. Once I did that, inserting the tube was easy and everything worked perfectly.

Refrigerator Water Line Leak
My water line to refrigerator sprung very small leak due to years of rubbing on its own bracket holding it to back of refrigerator. The removal and installation are exactly like shown in the video on PartSelect website. A possible problem can arise when removing and re-inserting the water line into "colletts" on the refrigerator filter housing. The grey circular colletts push in and out, not far, but after years of use can be brittle. If you move the colletts too much, a small part of plastic can snap, and you will then need an entire new filter housing. Be gentle when depressing the collett to pull out and push in the water line.

Inlet tube cracked and started leaking
Woke up to a wet wood floor and rug due to inlet tube spinging a leak/cracked. Watched repair video on utube. Ordered the part. And did the repair. But the other parts that the tube connects to started leaking due to age I assume and moving things to reach the part that tube went to. Old parts started leaking when I turn water back on. So now I have to replace the inlet valve and filter sleeve next. Hoping that will solve the issue and have ice again with out a wet floor and rug.

Two problems: The door made a loud snapping noise when opening and closing, and the water supply line was leaking at the wall valve.
In all honesty, watch the videos. They walk you through step by step and provide excellent instructions. The only comment I will make is that in my case, the snapping sound when opening the door was caused not so much by wear, but by the bolt holding the cam being loose. I decided to order the lower door closing cam because I figured there had to be some wear after all these years, and as long as the door is off I may as well replace it. The part is reasonably priced and well worth it. My only deviation from the video is that I used removable LocTite on the bolt when reassembling. Everything is smooth and quiet.

There was a split/leak in the main water supply line for the unit.
Replaced the supply line following the directions supplied by the video that was provided with the part order. I could not have done it as well an in the short amount of time required without the aid of the video. I would not have known that the water filter housing/unit had to be removed to facilitate the repair.

old inlet tube was leaking and direct replacement was out of stock
I replaced the filter inlet tube with this filter inlet tube because the refrigerator looked the same and I thought it would therefore be approximately correct. It was except for the connection to the copper tube feeding into the plastic tube. The fitting was not compatible and needed to be cut off and replaced with a new ferule and fitting purchased from a local hardware store for about two or three dollars.

The filter inlet tubing popped out of the connector that connects the main water line and the filter. The compression nut could have failed. I tried to put the tubing through the compression nut and back on the connector, but as soon as the water turned back on the pressure pushed the tubing out. I'm not sure if the compression nut failed, the tubing, or there is too much pressure in the filter. Will this part be able to connect to the connector with a possibly failed, old compression nut? Thank you
For model number Kenmore 52693100

Does the new water inlet kit come with a new plastic fitting, as i have broken mine. Should have watched the video first.
For model number ED5FHEXMB00
Hi Tom,
Thank you for your question. Yes, the quick fittings would be part of your water inlet valve. I hope that helps. Good luck with your repair.

My refrigerator makes a hammering sound when dispensing water thru the door or when the ice maker fills. What could be the problem? Thank you.
For model number ED5LVAXVQ00
Hi Eddie,
Thank you for your question. If you are hearing a sound like a jackhammer when you are getting water from the dispenser, the issue is with the water inlet valve. The noise is caused by a mechanical failure inside the water inlet valve and it will need to be replaced. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

Where can i purchase just the hose retainer (5/16" not the 1/4") for the water filter? It is the part that must be depressed to remove the hose from the filter assy.
For model number 106.51574200
Hello Jaime, Thank you for your inquiry. The hose retainers that the lines go into are part of the water filter housing assembly, part# WP2186443, and are not sold separately. Good luck with your repair!

Filter is missing. Filter housing is gushing water. Do i have to have filter inserted to stop leak and to get ice and water?
For model number TS22AFXKQ00
Hi Marie,
Thank you for your question. There should be a water filter in place in the water filter housing. A water filter may stop the leak, but you should also check the water filter housing to make sure it is not the cause and check the tubing and the water inlet valve as well to see if they are working correctly. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!
