Easy repair, machine purrs like a kitten
Had a small, reoccurring puddle at the front left of the machine for weeks and the machine would go off-balance from time to time, and not spin towels dry. When I tilted the machine to have a look I found that this spring (mine was blue banded) had rusted at the end and broke off. I ordered the part after I found it on the partselect site, and watched the repair video. On my machine, I didnt take the whole front off like the video. I just tilted the machine against the dryer and propped up. I found the spring hole underneath along the base and then stretched the spring up onto the other hole onto the drum frame

The support sprint had broke which left the basin unleveled so water would leak behind the basin and onto the floor
I replaced the broken support spring and the problem was fixed

counter balance spring
first remove your washer cabinet from unit. Next on your back left bottom is where your new spring goes. In my case my spring was broke making the washer spin out of balance. Repair with your new spring, and install cabinet back place plug it in and wash a load of cloths. Wow what a difference!!!! job took about 20 minutes. Very Happy

Hello, This site was very helpful! My question is why is there 3 counter balance springs in the kit for 29.97 when my machine only has one in the back? I would rather buy only the one I need for a lower price, thanks mike
For model number MVWC300VW1
Hello Michael, Thank you for the question. Your application will require only one spring depending on the color of the label on your motor. The kit includes the 3 color option. Maytag only sells the kit of the 3 springs to ensure you receive the correct color coded spring needed for you appliance. Hope this helps!
