When my washer is in the last spin cycle about the last 10 to 7 min it goes off balance and shakes violently and is loud. Is this something easy to fix.

What all comes in a suspension rod kit.Do i need to buy anything else? also is there a way to tell if the suspension rods at bad? thanks
For model number WTW8540BW1
PartSelect logo
Hello Michael, thank you for your question. The kit comes with the 4 rods, and caps - everything you need for installation. Usually if the tub is tilted, or the wash is always unbalanced that is a good indication that the suspension rods are bad. I hope this helps!

A repair man told me yesterday that my cabrio platinum needed new suspension rods (shocks) to spin out without the washer leaving the laundry room. He said the rods are not sold in a complete 4 pack... only separately, but that is what you are offering here. this looks like an easy repair i can handle myself and would save me hundreds of dollars over buying all the parts separately. please advise. thanks

My spin is working but it sounds like the bearings have no grease, you can hear the noise thru doors and walls. It isn't a knocking or unbalance type noise. I believe the bearings got wet and lost the grease. The shaft might be scarred from it. What do you think?
For model number MVWB850YG1

Hi Michael, Thank you for the question. This does sound like an issue with the bearings. I suggest replacing the PartSelect Number PS3503261, Tub Seal and Bearing Kit. This kit includes the shaft, 3 bearings, seals , grease, adhesive and the spanner nut, which is NOT sold separately. Also may require a bearing driver tool to install. PS3503307. Hope this helps!

Washer says UL. Tried moving clothes around and it still will not work.
For model number WTW8600YW1
PartSelect logo
Hi Corina, Thank you for your question. The UL error code stands for unbalanced or off-balanced load which means the control has recognized the the tub is off balance during the spin cycle. If you have already rearranged the clothes and the code is still coming up, then the stator may be cracked. This would causing the unit to become unbalanced during the spin cycle. You will need to remove the rotor from the bottom of the washer and inspect the stator for cracks in the white plastic housing, even a hairline crack can cause this problem. If you find the stator is cracked you will need to replace it. Also, the suspension rods could be worn and you will need to inspect them to verify if they are causing the issue. I hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day!

When you open the glass lid and look at the drum, it is off center from the round opening of the metal top. The drum is offset to the back left hand corner. what is the problem?
For model number MVWB980BG0
PartSelect logo
Hello James, thank you for writing. There should always be some give, you should be able to move it back and forth with it always laying in center when at rest. However, it is predominantly leaning towards the side then you should be looking at the leveling feet PartSelect Number PS11753762 or Suspension Rod Kit - Set of 4 PartSelect Number PS3502193. We have an installation video for you to access. We hope to hear from you soon.

When spin cycle starts (works) but it sounds like the bearings bad. And now we notice what looks like grease sprays around the right side floor. It looks like the grease just flew out. The spin cycle is so loud you can hear the noise thru doors and walls. It does not knock or is unbalance type noise. Thoughts? If you can suggest parts, are there instructions available to show how to replace the suspect parts?
For model number WTW8600YW1
PartSelect logo
Hi Richard, Thank you for the question. If it is a rubbing or grinding noise I suggest checking the Basket Hub Kit, Part Number: PS11723155 for any wear or damage. The basket hub is located under the agitator. If the hubs are good you will need to replace the bearing. The bearing is only sold as part of the outer tub assembly Part Number: PS3503107. I looked up the part and it is listed as No Longer Available/Discontinued. There is no part substitutions listed. My suggestion here would be to call the manufacturer and see if they can provide you with a substitution for these part numbers. Hope this helps!

Hi my washer is leaking would the suspension rods cause that?

Hi Raelyn, Thank you for the question. If the suspension rods are defective and the drum is not stable, it can cause wear on the seals and it will leak. Hope this helps!
