Why do I get odor in dishwasher?

My detergent dispenser is not dispensing the detergent during the cycle. We have to set a timer and open the to manually open the door so our dishes will get washed. I’m an electrician so I pulled the dispenser assembly out and tested the continuity of the dispenser. It reads at 13ohms of resistance. I can’t find the tech sheet anywhere that will tell me what reading I’m supposed to be getting. Can someone help me find that or help me know if the dispenser itself is bad or is it the control board?

when i put liquid detergent in the dispenser it becomes hard like a rock in soap dispenser after a wash and there is always soap residue inside after a wash and it does not wash my dishes and dry properly

Hi Brenda, Thank you for writing. With dishwasher unplugged from the outlet, you will need to remove the front door panel. It can be removed by taking out the screws holding it to the inner panel.
