Product Description

Infinite Switch Specifications

This surface burner switch is an essential component for electric ranges, controlling the power and heat level of the left front burner. It regulates the temperature by cycling the burner on and off to maintain the selected heat setting. If the switch is faulty, the burner may not heat properly, may remain stuck at one temperature, or may fail to turn on at all. For installation, first, unplug the range or switch off the circuit breaker to prevent electrical hazards. The control panel must be accessed by removing the back panel or control knobs, depending on the range model. Once the old switch is detached from the wiring harness, the new switch can be installed by reconnecting the wires in the correct configuration and securing it in place. Always wear work gloves to protect your hands.

I have a Kitchenaid KSEG700ESS2 stove and one eye (left three ring burner) runs on high no matter what setting it selected. Could the problem be a bad infinite switch? If it was bad, would all the eye do the same thing?

My front left burner, has 3 diameter cook settings, each adjust from low to high. No matter how the burner knob is set, it always runs on high heat. Is it the infinite switch that needs rel9aced? If so, what is the part number for my model. Also, what is the part number for the knob itself, I need to replace that also.

We currently have the issue of the left front burner only heating on high regardless of whether the knob is turned to low, medium, or high. I ordered and replaced the infinite switch for the burner, but I am still experiencing the problem. Is there any other fix, or is it possible that the new part was defective as well? Thanks in advance.
For model number YKSEB900ESS3

Hi Kyle, Thank you for your question. If you have replaced the burner switch and the burner still heats on high regardless of what setting it is on, then you either have a defective switch or the issue may be with the element. You will need to test these parts for continuity with a multimeter on the Rx1 setting to see if they are operating normally. Before removing and testing these parts, unplug the range from the electrical outlet. For the burner switch, place the multimeter's probes on the L1 and H1 terminals. Once you have completed that test, touch the probes to the L2 & H2 terminals. If your test results indicate that there is no continuity between one or both sets of terminals, you need a replacement infinite switch. For the burner element, touch each of the terminals one at a time with one probe while holding the other probe to the outside surface of the element. If either terminal shows continuity, it is defective. To test the entire element for continuity, place each of the probes on the terminals, one on each. The exact reading you should receive varies between models, refer to your owner’s manual to determine what yours should be, but if any element has a reading outside of 19 to 115 ohms, it is defective. If you do not receive the correct readings from the tests above or find damage on your element, you will need a replacement surface burner element. We hope this helps!
