Product Description
Dryer Drive Belt Specifications
This drive belt is genuine OEM part for your dryer. The belt works with the idler pulley to spin the dryer by driving the drum, and can become worn or break over time. To complete this repair, you will need a screwdriver, putty knife, and socket or nut driver. Accessing the belt involves disassembling the front panel of the dryer. Make sure your new belt is not twisted when installing it on the drum.

Drive belt for our Maytag dryer was easy to find and arrived in just a few days, whereas every other supplier in the area was telling us none were even available in Canada. Very happy :)

Our dryer has suddenly started making a high pitched squealing sound. What parts should I replace?
Thanks
For model number MEDB765FW0
Hi Brian,
Glad to hear from you. If you hear a squealing sound when the dryer is in use, check and make sure that the dryer is level. If it is not, adjust the legs on the dryer. If this does not resolve the issue, check the idler pulley. It is used to provide tension on the drum belt, so that the belt will not slip on the drive motor pulley or drum when the dryer has a load in it. If it is worn or damaged, you may hear a squealing noise and you will need to replace it. You should also inspect the belt at the same time as overtime it can become brittle and wear out and may need replacing. You should also inspect the drum rollers and shafts. The rollers support the drum and are usually located on both the front and rear bulkheads. Overtime, they may wear out and prevent the dryer drum from rotating freely and create a squealing or thumping noise and will need to be replaced. We hope this helps!
