door hinges worn out oven door not fully closing
Remove and replace oven door hinges. Disassembly of oven door unit required. Step by step instructions available on youtube.
cleaning oven door, fell on floor and broke inner door glasses
took apart and empty the broken glass! ordered parts too many glasses and no insulation ( no insulation in oven door when taken apart! Got the correct parts on order via a second sales person! Installed glass hinges, insulation and closed the door! and instaleed the oven door!
Oven door was difficult to open and close. The door would not close completely, and the heat would escape.
First, I watched the YouTube video which showed how to replace the hinges. Then I ordered the hinges which came in two days. Using nothing more than the instructions I watched and a Phillips screwdriver, lI removed the door, set it on the counter on a towel, removed four screws, and then removed the old hinges. The new hinges fit perfectly and were held in place with two screws each. Then the door was reapplied to the oven. The oven door now operated as if it were new. I wish I had attempted the repair much sooner, as we could have avoided the difficulty with opening and closing the door.
Oven door hinges sprung on the top oven. This is the second time I've had to make this repair, and I'm wondering if the design may be flawed.
Remove the door. (Two people - the door is fairly heavy). Place on a flat surface to work on it. I used the kitchen island. Disassemble the door to expose hinges. Replace hinges Reassemble door Mount door to oven. I cleaned the door and the face of the oven while I had the door off.

Why are there two different left and right hinges in your parts list? I need a new set of hinges for my bottom oven and am not sure which two i should order. Please advise,

Thank you for your question. If the door will not unlock, then you may have a problem the door lock/motor assembly. You should first remove the power to the oven for a few moments and then reconnect. This may reset the control and allow you to unlock the door. If you suspect that the door lock/motor assembly is at fault, then you will need to unlock the door manually. The assembly is normally located between the main top and the oven and can only be accessed by raising the main top. This is very difficult to do because the screws that hold the top in place are inaccessible with the door closed. If the assembly cannot be accessed then you will have to form a wire hook,(coat hanger) and insert it between the door and the latch and manually pull the latch to the open position. Remove power to the oven before attempting this procedure and be careful not to damage the finish.
To test the door lock switch to see if it is working correctly, first unplug your oven before beginning this test. Depending on your model, the switch could be found in several places, refer to your owner’s manual to determine the exact location. Common locations include the control panel and the door frame. Once you have located it, remove it in order to test for continuity. Set your multi-meter to Rx1 and ensure the switch is turned to the “clean" position. Using the probes, touch the terminals of the switch, this should produce a reading of zero or nearly zero. If your test results show that there is no continuity, you will need a replacement door latch. We hope this helps. Thank you and have a great day.
