W225LV Magic Chef Washer - Instructions

Removed front cover, identified leak, ordered part, saved over half of the cost on part, no service call fee. I feel great!

Removed the front cover of the machine, held in place by 2 screws on top. Removed the ground strap secured to the motor and (2) 3/8 inch bolts holding the motor in place. Next I removed this the lower belt, pulled the motor forward, then disconnected one by one, each individual electrical connector and connected them to the new motor to assure the were connected in the proper place. After this was done, the new motor was put into place with the belt reinstalled, ground straps reconnected, and bolted back into position.
Job finished in about 20 minutes.

I changed the piece easily

I moved the washer out from the wall. unplugged washer, turned off water. Took off rear plate exposing pump. Disconnected hoses, using dry/wet vac to catch water. Took out three screws holding pump to base of washer and removed pump, belt slipped right off. Set new pump in place and put in screws. Connected hoses, put rear plate back on. Tilted washer back and installed belt on pulleys and motor. Turned on water, plugged in washer, started to wash clothes. Washer works fine and QUIET. I have yet to find the model number on my Maytag washer. I ordered the pump by sight (good pics).

Removed water lines and drain, removed back panel, removed drain lines from pump. Unscrewed 3 screws to remove pump. attached drain lines to new pump, screwed in new pump, reattached everything. Reinstalled belt (very easy, not like an altenator). done

I pulled washer out and removed filler hoses from water supply and drain hose and tilted it forward placing three short 2X4's under the washer to keep it tilted forward. Removed
back plate with nutdriver. Removed belt from pulley and disconnected the two hoses from pump with pliers. Removed three large screws from pump base with nutdriver and removed old pump. Installed the new pump in reverse order. Quick and fairly easy took about 30 minutes.

I had my boyfriend take the lid off ,then he took off the two old hinges,one was broken,and the he replaced both lid hinges,daving the good one. it was very simple and quick for him.

First I got everything I needed, unplugged the washer. Using the puddy knife I freed the top of the washer by inserting the knife about four inches from each side on front. The machine is in a place where it can not be pulled out far, hence the two by fours. Remove the loose cover, reach in with the stubby and unscrew the screw on both sides. Take the broken cover pins off the cover and install the new ones, put the other hinges in the cover, put the hole cover in place and install the one screw perside, remove wood and close the hole top, your in business , no drinking

I first changed the belt which helped but it still sounded like it was going to take off through the roof.....I did the pulley and bearing kit in hopes that it would do some good....it went really smoothly with no issues however it did not solve the problem....so it is working and I am going to just ride it out until it quits....thanks

Easy repair - with the use of a phillips screwdriver, simply remove the old device and replace with the new

tipped the washer back, laid on the floor, and wrapped new belt around 3 pulleys. everything works as before.

Could manipulate symptom by putting pressure on old timer knob(to help diagnose as a timer fault). Removed knobs from front of panel, removed 5 screws to remove faceplate of panel. Removed 2 bolts and 1 wiring harness connector for access to replace the timer control. Reassemble and function test. All normal functions. Took about 20 minutes total.

used putty knife to to raise the top, took out two screws, replaced parts , then closed the top.
