SCA1001HSS02 General Electric Microwave - Instructions

Opened the cover. Removed burned out bulbs. Ordered replacements which arrived fairly quickly. Forgot to turn off power to unit (didn't matter in the end!). Using the bubble wrap the new bulbs came in, I inserted the bulbs one by one into their respective sockets. Not really tricky but the surface light is in the back of the microwave so I had to lean over the stove to get all the way back. Once in the bulbs worked fine. Closed the cover. All back to normal.

Used screwdriver, removed cover, took out old bulbs and replaced with new ones. Couldn't get any easier.

I'm writing because I have never in my life had such an easy time finding a part, ordering it, and receiving it! Your service is truly unbelievable. I still don't believe it and I experienced it. Nothing went wrong and it could not have been easier. Please don't go away.

After reading reviews that there was no power what so ever and a fuse replacement will solve the problem, I tried it. Replacing the fuse is very easy (and I am not handy at all). All you have to do is remove the microwave cover from the top by removing two screws, slide the cover to the left and pulling the cover off. Then remove the grill in front of you, by removing one or two screws. The fuse is in front of you, use pliers and be firm but gentle. Replacing the fuse is easy but it did not solve my problem.

This is the tray the glass cooking tray rest on and rotates the glass during cooking. The metal tray was installed upside down. The rotating glass tray was not properly installed. The oven was at a very high temp. and the weight of the utensil on the glass was not supported correctly. Result, big " pop " and broken glass tray. Note this is the second glass repaced. The first one dropped while removing it from the oven. It stuck to the bottom of the cooking dish and then fell to the floor. Pop, big breakage. Maybe you can learn from my mistakes.

Buying the bulb and doing the replacement my self was the best thing I had done. The same problem happened last year and I had the American Home shield insurance at that time so I called the company and they took three weeks between ordering and replacing the light, they showed me the final bill and it was $240.00....!!! This time I bought the light through partselect, got it within 48 hours and did he replacement myself within 15 min, I followed the instructions on the video and had to do an extra step ( due to the model I have) but I was able to replace the bulb and yooohooo it was working when I reconnect the power... I am a person who never tried to fix any electrical appliance before, but after this experience I will always try to do it myself... Believe me if I can do it and felt it was easy you can do it.... Removed tray from shipping container and installed in the microwave.

Removed tiny screw from under the microwave that held the lid shut where the light was located. Took out old bulb and replaced with new one. Very easy!!!!

I used a phillips screwdiver to open the light cover protecting the halogen bulbs (2) both had burned out and needed to be replaced. A bit akward to replace, but within 5 minutes both were removed. I called your part service department to order replacements,(friendly and courteous service I might add!)was told that they would arive in about 3-5 days. 1.5 days later they were on my doorstep...They were promptly plugged into my GE underhood mounted microwave, now I am back in service! You've won me over and I will tell all my friends about you. Thanks again!

Took item from sealed box and removed protective bubble wrap. Placed tray in microwave, aligning tray with turntable sprockets. Perfect fit, perfect match! And the part arrived in three days and was very competitively priced. What more is there to stay? Will use PartSelect for other replacement parts. No brainer!
