RB1005XYN3 Whirlpool Wall Oven - Instructions

I got my part in the mail and FIRSTLY, unplugged the entire stove from the wall. I unscrewed the old part from the front, took the panels off the back, and disconnected the element from the yellow and red wires.I removed the old part completely from the stove. I then put the new part in, reconnected the wires, screwed the part into the oven, then BEFORE putting the back paneling on, I tested it. The new element works like a dream. I then, put the paneling back on & was finished!

BE SURE WHEN YOU BUY TO CHECK WATTAGE OF YOUR OVEN TO YOUR ELEMENT. Voltage doesn't matter because most voltage is the same in any house you live in...

I first went to the breaker box and shut off the power to the oven.
Then I pulled the 2 screws from the back of the oven that held the element in and pulled off the clips and removed the old element.
My wife decided to give the old oven a good cleaning with a non-fuming cleanser while I went out to play golf.
When I came home she had applied the 2 clips to the new element and fastened it in with the 2 screws. (I love it when women use tools!)
The oven now looks and works like new!

Easiest repair I have ever done.
Removed two screws and pulled element out, exposing wiring. Pulled wiring connection apart with pliers. Attached wiring to new element and inserted element back in place and replaced screws. All done!!!
It worked.

First removed the two screws that hold the element in place. I then pulled the element out about 3 inches and disconnected the two wires...then replaced the old element with the new element..........(worked perfectly)

Replaced element.
Looks like I saved at least 500$

Opened circuit breaker, unscrewed old element, disconnected old heating element wire, attached new element wire, screwed new element into place, closed circuit breaker. tested element for heat.

Removed two screws, removed two clips, removed the element and rehooked the two clips and screwed the two clips back in. Zip Zip.

My daughter told me here oven had quit and ask my advice. I saw where the element was burnt. Took out 2 screws unkooked the wires. I was unable to get help at the local Appl repair store so I went to internet to parts select.com I put in model # and had the part within 3 days put it back in and worked fine.

Piece of cake. Removed door and racks, screwdriver to remove element. Reversed operation and back in service in no time. Good as new. Thanks.

I pulled down the wire around the glass cover. . . Released on end of the wire from its holder being careful to not let the glass cover drop. Unscrewed the bulb and replaced with replacement. Easy, easy.

Unscrewed 4 screws holding element. Disengaged one wire, but 2nd one was separated while pulling through rear wall. Could not grasp the wire from the front. Then unscrewed 4 screws along sides of oven to pull casing away from wall cavity. Sat oven on a box while unscrewing 12 rear panel screws. Pulled wire through from back into oven. (Didn't need to do this because new element extended through the rear wall to access from back. Could have reattached wires to new element from the rear, but didn't realize this soon enough.)....two days later reinstalled new broiler element reattaching wires inside the oven and replacing 4 screws holding element in the oven. To replace the back panel I had to lay oven on its face so the holes on back of would fit with the rear panel. Put 12 screws back on. Then pushed oven back into wall cavity and put 4 screws holding oven in place. It is now working!

I observed that the lower heating element was attached to the lower rear of the oven by two stainless phillips screws. I removed the screws and gently pulled the element outward. The element came out easily with two large red wires attached (one on each side). I unplugged the wires and extracted the old element. I used this as an opportunity to clean the floor of the oven that was hard to get at with the element in place. I installed the new element by plugging in the two red wires and used the same two stainless screws to reattach.

I oedered a new unit matched with the Model Number! Installed .It did not work.They said Part amybe defectice.They quickly sent out another.That was installed and did not work.I contacted them again and they sugessted the Modular unit that regulated the Heat Temp. They were discontinued. They suggested I contact Corecentic Solution.com which I did.I am now in the process of shipping out my Modular Element to have it rebuilt. My stove is over 20 Yrs old .It inly costs me $110.00 to fix ourselves. Thank YouParts Select.com. You saved me over $1700.00 It would have cost to buy a new stove. The element comes with the element attached to the bracket that holds it in place in the top of the oven. I had removed the 2 screws-one on each side--on the old element and disconnected the spade connections on the wiring after I pulled the element out far enough to expose them. I then reconnected the new element, pushed it back into place and re-installed the screws that hold it in place. A pretty simple job but I got a tremendous feeling of accomplishment after it was done. Saved a bunch of $$$ also!!
