PLRU1778ES0 Frigidaire Refrigerator - Instructions

Very easy. Watched a video on your site prior to getting the glass replacement. Removed the crisper drawers. Placed the glass in the front and placed it down. Took just a few minutes. Love your site and will come back again when needed. Thank-you.

1. I took out one screw on the ice maker and loosened the other two screws and unplugged and removed the ice maker.
2. Next I took out 2 screws from the bottom of the auger drive box and unplugged the wiring harness and removed the box. The wiring harness was a little tricky. The lock on the plug pushes in to unlock even though it looks like it pulls out,.
3.next you must remove 2 screws from the left side bracket that holds the auger box and remove the bracket.
4.Now take out 8 screws that hold the back panel in place and remove the back panel.
5. now your looking at the evaporator fan blade and motor. The simple way to replace the fan blade is to unplug the motor and remove it from the freezer. It just sits in with nothing holding it. The fan requires a little pressure but should pull right off. Install new fan blade and put everything back in the same order it was removed.

I basically removed the twin shelf supports and applied the 2 new ones.Replace the shelf and meat tray. I then banned my boys from climbing on the shelves...

A little difficult getting out due to restricted space, I took off the fan blade, that gave extra working room. Then it went well going back together,and it all worked as advertised. Thanks. p

I remove the old fan by pushing it off the spindle toward the evaporator and put the new one on by holding it on the right side and guiding it on the spindle from the left side, very easy task

My sons climb in the fridge to get stuff on higher shelves. In their climbing they broke the support for the crisper cover. I guess they were not made to support the weight of small children. Any way I ordered the part and when it arrived I unscrewed the old screws and screwed on the new support and put the crisper cover back on. I then told my wife how hard I worked to fix her fridge but of course I got no thanks.

Opened the box, snapped it in place. Took longer to just open the box! I carefully inspected the part and compared to the original. I could not tell them apart. The fit and finish is perfect. This is a very well made product. Easy to order, fast shipping, well packaged and very easy to install.

Replacement was a snap! Literally! OK there were two snaps. One on each side.

Old shelf was removed and the new shelf clicked right into place, an exact match, perfect fit.

Simply slide the new glass insert in!

Since the glass was broken and gone I just had to slide the new glass on top of the crispers. This was not really a repair, just an exchange of new for the old.

The old defrost timer started making a screeching noise (probably bearings going out). The replacement part was a cinch to install. When I initially spoke to a PartsSelect person, they said the part number I gave them was not consistent with my old '94 Tappan Freezer. They were able to still find the proper replacement part number. The video that was on-line helpful also.

Set new shelf in place and push down. Very easy!

Removed the inside evaporator coil to do inside solder job, use torch to heat solder joints on the outside drier in order to remove it and install new drier. Soldered Heat exchanger line to drier and 1/4” copper line to compressor. Wrapped with new insulation wrap. Pulled a vacuum on system and then charged with 4.4 ounces of 134a freon. Works like a champ again!

Received fan blade part took about 5 min to install and running great.
