MIM1554ZRS0 Maytag Ice Maker - Instructions

I surfed partselect and read that a reader had a similar problem with a rattling fan. I then removed the back panel, after I had unplugged the unit, and was able to feel the slop in the fan shaft. I then watched the video of how to replace the fan and ordered the part soon after. The part arrived 3 days later! Easy to do. I was finished in 12 minutes and the fridge runs silently. The part of the job that took the longest was vaccuming the undercarriage. There was alot of dust! Couldn't have helped the efficiency on the fridge. Keep it clean.

It took less that 30 seconds to pop out the old one and less that 30 seconds to install the new one.

Used the butter knife to pry the old switch out, it is a snap in switch so there is a small keeper on the bottom that needs to be pushed in to pop the switch out. Un hooked wires by pulling them off of the terminals (won't shock you) and put them on the new switch and popped it in

Watched the video that was attached to my order confirmation (great idea) and just followed it step by step. Real easy repair since I had tried to fix the noise first without ordering parts, so I knew what I was doing Did a temporary fix which quieted it down while I waited for the parts and then the repair itself was pretty straight forward.

Open appliance door. Removed access plate at lower front (two screws). Removed two screws holding valve in place. Depressed water line retainers and removed water lines from valve. Inserted water lines in replacement valve, remounted valve, reinstalled access plate. Tested operation. (I did install a water filter during the repair to prevent reoccurrence.)

Super simplet to fix. Popped out broken light switch and unplugged it and replaced with new switch. Received the part one day after ordering it from your company--AWESOME SERVICE AND TURNAROUND TIME!!! Saved at least $100 plus in repair costs/trip charge for something we were able to do. Popped out the old one......plugged in the new one and popped it back into place. My wife was happy in have light again in the fridge!

Initially thought I could repair switch, but then discovered spring was broken. Ordered the new switch (Parts Select is very efficient - received switch in 3 days). Was encouraged by the posts regarding the switch installation. I had some difficulty removing the old switch. Used a pocket knife to ease the switch out of the hole to reveal the clip/spring. After noting the clip/spring location I used a small flat-blade screwdriver to release the clip. Even though I released the "molded" clip/spring(be sure to note where the spring is on the new switch and release it on the switch it was tight in the hole and had to use pliers to carefully remove the old switch. After removing the old switch, used pliers to gently remove the wire leads. Then install the leads on the new switch. Note the orientation for replacing the switch and gently feed the connecting wires into the hole so they won't kink or prevent the switch from entering the hole. Install the switch noting the clip/spring location and the orientation of the lever that the door closes on to turn off the light. Be sure to put it in without binding at an angle. Pulled out the Fridge. Removed the plug. Removed the back panel screws with nut driver. Vacuumed the coils & fan area. Disconnected the fan cable. Used a socket and thumb ratchet to remove the 3 mounting screws from its sheet metal bracket. Slid the old fan assembly out. Assembled the new Fan blade onto the new motor shaft and attached the adapter cable to the fan connector. Slid the assembly into place and reattached with 3 screws using socket and thumb ratchet. Connected adapter cable to fridge harness and plugged in the power cord to test the fan. With it working Quietly and knowing the the problem was solved, the back panel was reattached.

Instructions were really clear and easy to follow. Hardest part of the job was moving the refrigerator away from wall after it was filled with holiday groceries.

Pulled out old switch with needle nose pliers, unplugged old switch and plugged in the new one and snapped back into place. Very easy to repair. Took less than 10 minutes

I found the part I needed on this website, watched the tutorial and saw how simple it was to do myself. I ordered the part and it arrived within a few short days. It took me no more than 15 minutes to change out the part. I saved myself several hundred dollars. It is rather shocking how much the "professionals" charge considering the cost of parts, labor and nominal service fees.

what I discovered is the condenser fan is still operating but not strong another word insufficient cooling for the condenser. therefore, it's getting too hot and shutting off and stripped the circuit breaker. After installing the new condenser fan, it gets back in business. it's quite simple. Just unplug the unit off, uncover the bottom back cover and there you see compressor, condenser fan and other good stuff. there you unscrew the nut in front of the condenser fan and remove the fan, then it expose the two screws that holding the fan motor, remove these screws and take out the motor. and just install the new fan motor kit in and there you have it. plug it back to the wall and there it goes

I've tried ordering the part from Sears and they told me it will take about 7 days for the part to arrive, some other place said it will overnite for extra money. So I've ordered the part from Part Select at a good price and prompt delivery. once the part arrive installing the part so so easy cause it had easy to follow instructions.
