Oven would not start when closing door.

Removed some cosmetic panels. Removed the assembly with micro switches. Examined the faulty switch by checking the clicking action of switch. Two others were ok by this method. Replaced the switch with new one. Works fine so far. Thanks to web site and YouTube videos.

Door switch malfunction

Take cover off microwave. Check door switches to determine which one was faulty.Remove and replace faulty switch.

did not include screw to secure it to celing of the microwave rempved

removed old cover put the new one in place found right size screw from my tool box, tightened it.

The Microwave was completely dead and wouldn't run, light up or anything.

I followed an old appliance repair forums post from 2008 that discussed this exact common issue with this LG model. It took me quite a while to find the info. Then I used the schematic diagrams on your website to find where the part was located inside the microwave. I removed the outer cover. I tested all components including the thermostat for continuity with a multimeter. I discovered there wasn't any continuity in the thermostat so ordered the part and replaced it. Everything works like a charm! Thanks for the great, fast service.

Numeric display was malfunctioning. Lit segments were dim and some non-lit segments were flashing faintly.

1. FIRST -> UNPLUG THE MICROWAVE!
2. Remove two screws (left & right most) at top to remove the vent grill.
3. Open the door and tilt top of vent grill out being careful of to not break the two mounting tabs.
4. Remove screw at top of the keyboard / display assembly (hinges at bottom).
5. Note the position of wires (take a photo) and remove 5 wire connectors.
6. Place keyboard / display assembly on a towel, face down.
7. Compare old PCB with new PCB and verify they are have the same part number.
8. Remove ribbon / flex cable (pull locking bar), and four screws to remove the PCB.
9. Install the new PCB, tightening the four screws and reinstalling the ribbon / flex cable. Flex cable must be straight and press the locking bar.
10. Re-install the 5 wire connectors using your photo.
11. Re-install the keyboard / display assembly and secure with the single screw.
12. With the door open, re-install the vent grill being careful to insert the two upper tabs.
13. Reinstall the two screws holding the vent grill.
14. Plug in the microwave and test.
In my case, the vent grill tabs were broken (one was broken prior to disassembly and the second damaged upon re-install).
Thus, I secured the vent grill using two plastic tie wraps inserted though the screw holes.
Total time: 30 minutes.

Microwave fan would come on when door open. Timer and unit would not switch on.

I looked up my problem on the internet and found a very helpful video. Microwave on video was different brand but the internals and methods were very much the same. The video made it simple and easy to fix. Found the replacement switch on the LG parts site and ordered. Two different switch types. One with red switch, the other green. Part was $7.28. Saved a bundle in service costs. Here is the repair video.

blew fuse

tested cap. with ohm meter which showed a short. A new HV cap., a fuse and it is working fine again.

The digital readout on the LG microwave started flickering and then finally just went blank.

I removed the overhead heat vent removed the screws off the digital panel board and pushed left on panel. Came off and then I removed the 8 screws holding the circuit board in place. Removed all the connected cables, then proceeded to install new circuit board. Reversed process. Microwave is brand new again.

suddenly stopped working while in use

i unplugged the unit,unscrewed the outer shell so that all the wiring and internal components were visible.starting at the first of three micro switches i removed the slip on terminals installed the alligator clips too the wires so the switch would now be bypassed.i made sure the wires and clips were not touching anything plugged unit in and it worked.i then installed the new switch and closed up the outer shell

One of the clips that holds the microwave rack broke.

You just pull out the clip but the the hard part is doing that without bending the metal hole the holds the clip. If you do bend the hole the clip will not fit flush. Just get a flat screwdriver and reshape the whole.

Door Latch spring keeper broke

Removed door from microwave and then popped the inside widow trim ring off. Removed 4 screws from the window bracket, replaced the latch with a new part and then assembled.
