The past I ordered was broken upon delivery. I asked for a replacement and was refunded the charge. Tried to contact you but "due to covid" you aren't taking calls. Net result: I ordered the part from another source, got it, installed easily. Won't use you again.

light didn't come on when the door was opened
I took a very thin bladed screwdriver and took the old part out -carefully.
The new part fit in quite easily.

Switch stops working
Replace with new switch. this is the third switch i have replaced in 10 years. the only part, besides a light bulb, that has gone bad. obviously this is a problem with this model for Kenmore, or just poor switch design.

Door switch would not turn on interior refrigerator light.
I had previously watched a YouTube video (do this first!!) on a similar Kenmore model so I knew what to look out for: (1) turned off power, (2) took thin putty knife to slip under outer lip of switch (most screwdrivers are too thick), (3) wiggled switch at front end to release the tab, (4) unplugged from the socket, (5) plugged in new switch, (6) popped new switch back into door, (7) turned on power. Voila !! Super easy. I couldn't believe it.

Old part did not seal properly

Broken spring on flapper door
Unplugged the frig and removed two phillip screws on flapper door of left door... Unplugged the electrical connector and removed flapper...
Picked up new flapper and snapped electrical contractor together... Slid new flapper bar into place and inserted two phillip screws... Job complete in 15 minutes...

The spring on the mullion was broken so the mullion would not open to seal the other door.
I am a73 year old woman. If I can do this, anyone can. Super easy. Just watch the online video.

ICE MAKER WAS LEAKING WATER ON THE FLOOR / CRACKED TRAY
REMOVED 4 SCREWS HOLDING UNIT IT DISCONECTED PLUG TO CONTROLER AND REMOVED IT BY PULLING OUT ON THE BOTTOM FIRST. TO INSTALL SLIDE THE UNIT UP AND IN FROM THE BOTTOM CONNECT THE PLUG AND INSTALL THE SCREWS. THE TOP SCREW HAS A PLASTIC SPACER WASHER. UNIT WILL NOT START TO MAKE ICE UNTILL IT REACHES TEMPATURE, GIVE IT TIME. WATER DESPENSER WILL WORK. CONTROLS ON THE FRONT OF THE DOOR WILL LIGHT UP NORMALY. I REMOVED MINE WHILE WAITING FOR PART TO ARRIVE, 4 DAYS. EVERYTHING WORKED EXCEPT WATER & ICE DESPENSER AND CONTROL DISPLAY ON THE DOOR.

The Mullion Strip Spring Broke
Removed mullion strip with Phillips screwdriver replaced spring reinstalled the mullion strip all in about 15 minutes.

Lights didn't come on when door was opened
I have moderate to good mechanical skills, but getting the old switch out was a sizeable challenge. Since this switch suffered some damage during extraction, I was lucky to have ordered a new one to replace it. Reinstall took approximately 90 seconds. PartSelect saved me an expensive service call.

Spring in the plate front assembly broke. Door plate assembly would not move into correct position, preventing door from closing.

Ice maker bucket/dispenser broke
Removed old bucket and placed new one In its place. New one is actually better than OEM part because it has an arm than breaks up any ice that may jam.
