LFFH2067DW2 Frigidaire Freezer - Instructions

Parts Select is an excellent source for help and parts identification. I highly recomend them.
My first option was to replace the defrost timer.
After still getting ice and frost buildup in freezer I decided to replace the defrost thermostat.
Remove all shelves. Losen icemaker if applicable. Remove light cover and bulb. Remove all screws securing rear vertical cover. Carefully move back panel, disconnect icemaker and bulb assembly. carefully remove styrofoam cover at upper left and remove defrost thermostat. I tested the thermostat and found it was defective. It would not close circuit after being placed in a working freezer. Reverse procedure to replace thermostat.
This solved the problem

Replaced fan. I ordered the fan and received it the following.(-:

Unplug freezer let stand all night to defrost. Remove the tray cover which is located on the upper back area inside the freezer.( 3 twist fittings remove it ). Remove the upper stainless steel panel which is secured with 6 screws. This will drop down exposing the condenser. Note all the wires and fan will stay attached to the stainless steel panel, this panel will drop down no need to unplug anything. On the left upper side next to the condenser you will see the thermostat. Two color coded wires. Remove the thermostat and install the new one at the same location.

I followed the You-Tube instructions, removed the ice from the compressor and replaced the thermostat with the part I received from Part Select. What I took out was a part that was very much inferior to the replacement part. The repair saved me a lot of money for a new freezer and it was not difficult to do following the video. Now the freezer runs better and quieter than ever. Thank you Parts Select.

Replace thermostat and show and tell made it easy.

I first noticed my ice cream getting soft. Then 2 days later the alarm went. I emptied the freezer, opened the panels and saw no frost. I saw that 99% of issues were resolved with a defrost timer and thermostat so I ordered those. I have to say the parts came quickly and they went in very easy. My freezer seems to be in the 1% category though. It's still not cooling even though I can measure the temperature at the front of the evaporator coil is cold but by the end of the coil it's almost room temperature. I think a repairman is called for.

Watched video on Part Select which shows you how to replace the thermostat with several good pointers. Very easily done and now the freezer works great.

The evaporator fan would make a very high-pitched whine/squealing noise usually after starting up after a defrost cycle, although, it would make the same noises during normal operation. After performing a thorough inspection of the fan blade and motor, I discovered that there was no interference to the rotating fan, and realized the motor must be failing. After removing the food and racks from the main body of the freezer, I had to remove 8 Philips-tipped screws that held the inside back panel cover on. I disconnected the fan motor from the main wiring harness, removed the fan mounting bracket (2 5/16" hex head screws), and then removed the fan motor from the mounting bracket (2 5/16" hex head bolts. I removed the fan blade and conducted a visual inspection, and found not blemishes of broken/damaged pieces. I mounted the new motor and used the existing fan blade, and replaced everything in the reverse order. I turned on the freezer and it has been operating perfectly since. I disassembled the old motor and discovered that the stator coils were worn, and the bearings allowed to much forward/aft motion.

replace thermostat and timer after defrosting and cleaning out freezer. I took less than 10 minutes and now freezer has a defrost cycle that eliminates frost buildup on the coils.

I stuck the new stop-basket in the hole where it belonged.

The sliding shelf side rail is held by three philips head screws that tighten into nut inserts. No amount of tightening would keep two of the three screws tight. I found that the nut inserts which are plastic and insert into the side of the freezer would pull loose, probably from years of overloading the sliding shelf basket. Ordered two nut inserts from PartSelect. 1. Remove three screws to remove shelf slide side rail. 2. Remove nut inserts to be replaced with needle nose pliers or reinsert screw a couple of turns and pull nut insert out with pliers. 3. Insert new nut inserts, position side rail, and tighten screws. Replace sliding shelf/basket.

Ordered freezer key friday afternoon received it saturday afternoon. Fast service

Took out three shelves. Removed 9 screws with a battery powered drill with a phillip screwdriver bit. Popped off the thermostat like I had seen on the video. Put the new thermostat on. Replaced the two wires one at a time. Reassembled the unit. This was so quick that my wife told me to let her know when I wanted to fix the freezer. She was shocked that I had completed the job. I'd been in the garage less than 10 minutes. It has been six weeks. and the freezer is working perfectly.

i order the defrost timer and the temperaturecontrol as was advised,it was very simple as reading the previous notes, pulled knob off, rerout temp metal probe, while the cover was off i clean it as much as i could and repainted the bottom with applince paint, looks good as new, very easy, whent to the defrost timer was so simple unscreewbracket, pull wire clip harness replace harness rescreew bracket, replug freezer it's good as new, saved a lot of money, i love this web site
