The door handle has broken off. How can I get it fixed?
For model number KHMS155LSS4
Hello David, Thank you for your inquiry. If the door handle has broken off, then we recommend replacing it. We show the compatible door handle as part# PS556624, and the screws as part# PS11728054. To access the door handle screws, you can remove the inner door frame with a putty knife and then pull the inner door out. Be careful of the door glass while accessing the door screws. We hope this helps you.
Slide grease filter about 1/2 inch to right (or left) using the d-ring attached to one side and then pull down and out. Push charcoal filter frame slightly to rear and pry down from front. Install new charcoal and grease filters by reversing process. No tools - 5-minutes max!!
First -- and this was the key to success -- I watched a couple of Youtube videos on "Replacing a microwave door handle". As one video suggested, I placed a large towel underneath where I was working (over the stovetop) to catch any falling parts but this proved unnecessary. Once I removed the two screws from the end of the door, the inside of the door pried off easily with a screwdriver. It did want to drop quickly though, so be ready to hang onto it. The handle was attached with two screws (which I reused, no problem). It took a few minutes to re-insert the inside of the door into the frame, but once that's done, you just re-install the two end screws and you're finished.
