KBSD708MBS01 Whirlpool Refrigerator - Instructions

Poped ou the old switch, connected new switch and pushed back into socket.

Popped old one out with knife. exchanged power leads. Popped new switch in. Make sure to unplug refrigerator before you start!

I popped the switched out depressing the underside of the switch so that it could be removed.
I ordered the part.
Paid for normal shipping.
Received an order confirmation.
Received a shipping notification.
Received the part the next morning.
Open the part and attached the wires.
Pushed the switch into the hole and the process was done in less than 24 hours. I couldn't have been more pleased. The actual installation took less than 30 seconds.

Used screw driver to pop out old switch. Used pliers to hold wire connection from fall back into slot on fridge. Inserted new swith into plug and pressed new switch back in place.

plugged the two wires in and snapped the switch into it's socket.

I had several times tried to get the old switch out but with no success. Ordered the "repair kit" and followed directions for removing old switch (there is a plastic spring clip on one side). Easy to unplug the old switch, plug the leads into the new one, snap the new one into place. Took about 5 minutes total--piece of cake. I wish I'd thought to try this years ago when the old switch began to fail.

Pulled out old switch with needle nose pliers, unplugged old switch and plugged in the new one and snapped back into place. Very easy to repair. Took less than 10 minutes

After years of using a flash light to check the contents of my refrigerator, I decided to try to fix the problem myself. Replacing the light switch was very easy. The directions were straight forward and I'm sorry I waited so long to tackle the problem.

Super simplet to fix. Popped out broken light switch and unplugged it and replaced with new switch. Received the part one day after ordering it from your company--AWESOME SERVICE AND TURNAROUND TIME!!! Saved at least $100 plus in repair costs/trip charge for something we were able to do. Installing the switch was a breeze, the tough part was removing the old switch. I watched a video on the PartSelect website which showed how to remove and reinstall the switch. I attempted to remove the switch the same way that they showed on the video, but the problem was my switch was surrounded with foam insulation which was stuck to the old switch. I attempted to pull out the switch but was not able to extricate the switch. Finally, I called a friend who works with these switches and he cut away the foam insulation and removed the switch. Being the handyman that I am, I was able to reinstall the new switch. Hope this helps anyone with an Amana refrigerator that has the light switch on the side wall instead of in the light console like the video showed. Don't be afraid to cut away the foam on the right and left sides and the bottom. Don't cut away at the top, because that is where the wire connections are located and you might cut those off and then you'll be ordering more parts. Good luck.

Changed bulb, not the problem, had to remove switch to identify correct choice to order (3 pronged verus 2) after that it was easy beyond having to stand on my head to make the exchange. (N B before removing old switch it actually came back to life)

Pried out the old switch with small screwdriver, popped in the new one and tah-dah!! ..the light came on. While I was at it, I cleaned out the freezer :). I cannot begin to imagine what a repairman would have charged for this.

Temperature in freezer too cold. Temperature display showed higher temperature than actual which caused the freezer to continually run. Thermister is found behind a white box on wall in freezer. Unscrew the box from wall and easily disconnect the thermistor clamp. Replace in reverse order.

Used the butter knife to pry the old switch out, it is a snap in switch so there is a small keeper on the bottom that needs to be pushed in to pop the switch out. Un hooked wires by pulling them off of the terminals (won't shock you) and put them on the new switch and popped it in
