JGD8430ADB Jenn-Air Cooktop - Instructions

Removed old knobs and replaced with new ones.

The part was here three days after ordering and I put it on with no tools in less than a minure.

I carefully pulled the 3 D rings that were left on the posts of the burner controllers with a pair of needle nosed pliers, made sure there was nothing on the controller posts, then put the new knobs on. Make sure there are no D rings on the oven knob posts, 2 of the knobs were fine, they just didn't have D rings in them. Partselect was great. Items were received within 2 days. I would definately recommend them.

Got on line and ordered part and lined up flat side of inside of knob and slid it on... That simple... The person who put them on after cleaning stove never knew there was a flat side inside knob.. We never stop learning, do we???

removed grate and cap.unscrewed burner plate.disconnected spark wire and replaced with new part.fired it up .now it workes again.

I removed the split knob and slipped the new knob right on. The knobs look metal but are actually plastic and split over time and use. Really easy to replace. Thanks part select.

unscrewed old ignator---replaced w new--done deal!!!!

remove knobs from pkg, remove broken knobs from range insert new knobs wallah done.

We replaced the control knob with an exact replica from PartSelect at a very reasonable price – Thank you.

bought new ones and pushed them onto D shaped posts total time 90 seconds they may break again in 10 years but I am to lazy to reinforce them

Simply took off the original knob and replaced it with the new one.

Do not buy just the burner electrodes. The screws that hold the electrode will break off. Purchase the burner head with electrode. I would recommend placing anti-sieze lub on the new screw that holds the electrode to the burner head so if the electrode fails again it can be replaced. The screws that hold the burner head to the top top are mild steel and will rust and snap off. I would use a rust penatrent on these screws several days before trying to remove but most likely they will strip or break off. Replace all these burner head screws with stainless steel screws with anti-seize applied. If any of this sound difficult call a repair company.

Electrode ceramic was chipped. Spark was not coming to the top of the electrode, and stove would not light. Remove two burner screws. These are "baked" on...so use some liquid wrench first if you have it. Don't strip the head, or you'll have a mess. Remove burner, unplug electrode, remove electrode screw, replace electrode. Reverse process and you're good to go!

I ordered an entire new set even though I only needed 2...removed all of the old ones, threw away the broken ones and installed the entire set.
