Stopped making ice. Black stuff coming out on ice
First I removed the (3) screws holding the unit to the side of freezer wall with a nutdriver. Then I disconnect the Harness from the back of the freezer. You have to work the Harness off connector because it was very tight. The Unit came with the correct harness installed so I reconnected the harness to the Freezer and replaced the (3) screws. I had ice in about 2.5 hours.

My Kenmore Ice Maker stopped manufacturing ice
The repair was very easy. I ordered the part from Part Seelect and the delivery was very quick.
Opened the box and took out the new ice maker. Emptied the freezer, turned off the power and the water to the Refigerator / Freezer / Iceww Maker. Used a quarter inch nut driver to remove the old ice make. Really easy remove one screw and lewsen two ther screws. unplugged the wiring harness. Took the bale arm off old unit and installed it on the new unit. Check to make sure I had the right wiring harness installed on the ic make which it was. Installed and leveled the new unit. in a little over a hour I had ice. Had to make a few adjustments to the water level setting to make sure all ice cube trays filled up completely.
So easy to do a cave man could do it.

Ice maker did not make ice
Ordered new ice maker from this site . Installation was very easy. Was happy to see that many electrical plugs were included. Chose the correct electrical plug and installed in 30 minutes. One note, be patient as it takes a while for ice maker to produce ice. When I heard the sound of ice dropping in the bin, I was very happy. Just in time for summer cold drinks. :)

Original ice maker quit making ice, leaked water.
Removed the old ice maker (2 screws, about 2 minutes). Read the excellent instructions. Prepped the replacement unit by adding the mount bracket. It plugged straight into the existing fridge wiring harness. Amazing how standardized icemakers are! Total time for a very careful job was under an hour.
It came in the mail, I got home about 5pm and had it installed that evening before dinner. First load of ice was in the catcher before I went to bed.
Very nice kit, and economical compared to a new fridge!

The lights were out in the part of the refrigerator and freezer section of refrigerator.
I ussed meter to check the voltage levels and they were fine. I refrence a you video on the refrigerator and foud out that the lights are setup in series like christmas tree lights. If the freezer light is out it will affect the rest of the lights in the refrigerator. I removed the freezer light module and test the light by swapping it with a know working light. the freezer light was the culprit that took the lights out in the side panels and the left side of the refrigerator section. I replaced the freezer light and all the lights now work without issue.
One light and they all go out. So i used one fo lights

ice maker not functioning
I loosened the two screws on which the ice makers hangs and removed the third screw toward the back. I lifted the icemaker a bit and removed the part and unplugged the unit at rear. I reversed the process to install the new one. All very simple.
At first nothing happened, no water filling the tray. I thought there must be some other problem. A few hours later I heard ice being dumped into the ice container. I don't understand the delay but it works fine.
At first no

Ice maker wouldn't cycle. Water dumped in freezer.
The ice maker is held in by three screws. There is an electrical connection. Also, there is a water line to the rear of the unit.
The replacement unit had clear instructions and a selection of parts to match the defective device.
Hint: don't discard the old unit until the new unit is configured for installation.
Turned on the water and the electricity to the fridge, and had ice in several hours.

The icemaker on our ice in the door refrigerator quit working
With a little investigation, I found that the ice tray had corroded, and the increased friction was keeping the ice from dumping out properly. It also had apparently damaged the gear motor, and the timing of the ice ejector was off. I went to the Part Select site and found that the icemaker specifically for my refrigerator was significantly more expensive than the universal Whirlpool replacement icemaker, but the two looked similar, so I ordered the universal replacement. When it arrived about 3 days later, I was able to easily remove the standard parts and replace them with the plastic parts and wire harness that were unique to my refrigerator. They fit perfectly, and I had the new icemaker installed in only about 20 minutes, including time spent to remove and replace the plastic parts

Ice maker didn't work and flooded the ktchen twice.
Removed two screws, pulled the element out and disconnected the wire harness. Reversed the procedure and we were one.
Kept a close watch n the ice maker to make sure we didn't have another flood. The first time an ice cube stuck between the metal bale and the side of the freezer--we had about 50 gallon of water on the floor. Thought we had it fixed and a few days later another flood. Decided to replace the unit and it is working great...Hopefully no more floods.

Ice Maker was over filling tray and having trouble dumping the ice
I just removed three screws from the old ice maker and disconnected a single set of wires. All I had to do was reconnect the new set of wires and screw it back into the side of the freezer. Anybody could do this repair.

Opened the door and accidentally hit the empty door shelf causing it to fall to the floor.
Simply opened the door and replaced the shelf with the new one.
PS
Be sure to order the correct shelf, because although they looked the same initially they’re not.
My unit has different shelves for the right and the left.
Good product and fast ship!!!

Ice Maker wasn't working
it was very very simple, it took only three screws
using socket set.
I removed the old one and put the new one in place , connect electric connection in 2 seconds snapping it toghether, that is all to it.
the hardest part is waiting on the ice to be made , which it took three to four hours for the first batch.
I am in the medical profession, IF I CAN do it , everyone CAN!!!!!!!!

Ice maker stopped making ice
First I unpluged the refriderator and removed the old ice maker. I then just simply installed the new ice maker. It was just that simple. The next morning I woke up with a full tray of ice.

The door switch was broken so the interior light would not come on.
The instructions in the package were not helpful. They wanted me to cut the wiring harness and described where to cut based on the wire colors. My wires were not the same color! I removed the light mechanism using a combination of a screwdriver, putty knife, and plain old muscle with my fingers! The wiring harness unplugged easily and the new one inserted. It was easy to push the whole assembly back into the door. I spent more time looking for something to cut the wiring harness with (and never did find it) than the whole job actually took without needing to cut anything!
