Ice dispenser chute door was defective
First I removed the drip pan, then removed the two screws behind it which hold the frame. I then pushed up on the frame, the top of which is slotted to fit on two large-head screws. This allows the frame to be swung loose. I then disconnected the flat control cable, then removed two more screws. Replaced ice chute door, but repair didn't work. Repeated this several times. The problem was that I had not correctly affixed the part holding the door to the solonoid pin. The pin had dropped out, and I re-inserted it the wrong way. Be sure that the slotted end of the pin properly engages the chute door holder. This job would have taken much less time if I had more carefully examined the mechanism while disassembling it. Next time I repair something, I'll use a digital camera to snap a few pictures as I disassemble the mechanism.

Ice flap broken
I followed the instructions from other users and everything went fine. I had one issue not covered. My refrigerator doors are covered by cabinet panels, and the top panel had to be removed in order to remove the panel for the ice/water dispenser. The part was perfect and fairly easy to install!

cover of ice maker chute broke off
Disassembled the control facade of the ice maker/water dispenser, then attempted to install the chute cover, only to discover that an arm connecting the chute was broken. Temporarily reassembled the chute with cover, so we can still secure water. Will need to order broken arm to finish the install.

light staying on
A very cold and brittle switch in a 17 year old fridge. Used screwdrivers to pry out with some resistance Had to cut the molded plug in half and split wires, because replacement contacts were farther apart than the original. End result, works great.

Original drive ring broke
The most time-consuming part was removing the screws. First, remove the 8 screws that attaches the ice bin to the front cover. This will free up the auger enough to pull up the back end where the drive ring is held in place. The ring just pops right out. The only thing I recommend is as long as you have the bin out (and empty), go ahead and give it a good wash. Make sure it is thoroughly dry so that no ice freezes to the moving parts.

broken ice chute door
it looked like it wouild be a pretty quick job, so i didn't take any chances; i unplugged the fridge to avoid any chance of problems with circuit board behind front facing. removing "drip catcher" at base of opening reveals 2 torx screws (easily removed) and two more up near the chute opening and light bulb. front facing then easily lifts off. i found it easiest to unplug ribbon cable from the circuit board. The door itself is pretty self-explanitory as how to remove and replace. the trick was figuring out the correct position for the attaching solenoid. it's supposed to be in a "normally out" position under the attaching part of the door flap mechanism. and that was it. much easier than i expected. it took about 15 minutes.

Had broken ice chute door
I first read the repair hints on your web site and proceeded to follow the instructions that were there. This was a very easy fix and did not take long to repair. I did get a bit of an electrical shock when I accidentally touched the electronic board with the back of my hand. But again, the instructions are very helpful and anything that I would add for instructions would just be repeating what others have said.
