Failed overload/relay start capacitor
Apparently, the manufacturer sometimes substitutes a part but keeps the same number, which is what happened here. The part wouldn't fit in the actual space on this model--even though the number was apparently correct! Refunding my money and assisting me to contact the manufacturer directly couldn't have been easier! Impressive customer service in a difficult situation.

Broke the arm off the food compartment rocker switch
After receiving the new part almost immediately, using two screw drivers, removed the broken switch from the plastic frame. Be careful not to scratch or otherwise tear the plastic...very pliable. Since the original switch was factory installed and the wires were packed in fiberglass insulation, the switch came out but the wires and clips were still in place and could not reach the new switch. It was necessary to pull them down with bent long nose pliers...used a lot of "pull" but the wires held up.Connected the switch, turned the power on and there was light! Reports from other users really took the uncertainty out of the task.

The ice making got slow.I replace the ice maker in December 2012 and it marginally until it stoped completely January 2014.
The Amana You Tube video explained and demonstrated how to isolate the problem. After finding the problem I ordered the Water Valve on a Sunday and I installed it Tuesday morning in about ten minutes.

Frig & freezer section would not cool/too warm
Easy to replace part - remove panel at the bottom rear of the appliance, unplug from the compressor and connect the new relay. Unfortunately, it was not the relay on my appliance -- looks like the compressor has gone out -- new fridge for me

R & R the overload/relay start capacitor in a Kenmore refrigerator.
After unplugging the refrigerator, I removed the lower rear access panel that exposed the condenser and the overload/relay start capacitor with 1/4" nut driver (6 total). Next, I unplugged the wire harness and spring loaded keeper with needle nose pliers. Then I pulled the overload/relay start capacitor out of the 3 pronged male receptor located on the side of the condenser and plugged in the new one. Replaced the keeper, plugged the harness back in, and replaced the panel. Very easy fix.

Light in the refrigerator didn't work
I did exactly as the video showed. I popped out the old switch, disconnected the two terminals, connected the new switch and put it back. The light now works! The refrigerator is over 25 years old and the switch works! What a great website this is. Couldn't of done the job without Partselect's help.
