Open compartment, installed bulb, closed compartment

Removed the glass cover and replaced the bulb. Very simple.

Received my replacement Tray,Glass in only 2 days. Opened it and placed it in the Microwave. Yep, it was that easy!

Replaced light bulb.

First let me say that I tried several places to get what I thought was a simple light bulb. This included several national hardware stores as well as a national electrical supply company. No luck. Went to the manual and PartSelect. Not only did you have it in stock, ship right away,at a reasonable price it arrived in a matter of days. One would not normally think of receiving a "how to" video to change a light bulb but you did. That impressed me. Suffice to say the replacement went well and you can be certain the next time I need a part I will go to you first. I am also impressed with the organizations with which you are affiliated with. Problem was a faulty door latch switch. I easily accessed the switch by removing the control panel, total of 4 screws. After that, just disconnected the three switch door latch assembly and connected the new one. Took about half an hour and was very easy. Unit works perfectly now.

1. Removed unit from the cabinet. (2 screws). 2. Remove the outer microwave metal shell. (10 screws). 3. Locate and remove part. (3 screws). 4. Install new part and replace all screws. 5. Install unit back into cabinet. So easy. I will share this site with all of my friends.

You had alerted that it was imperative to unplug unit before starting to remove defective bulb. As described, there was silicon on bulb and socket and bulb broke upon my attempt to remove. Had to use needle nose pliers to get metal base of old bulb from socket, then all went well.

hardest part was taking the microwave down off of the wall to gain access to the diode. Thought if was the transformer but ended up being just a blown diode. remove and replace and bench test. that part took 15 minutes . moral of the story don't boil water under the side of the microwave that holds the electric components.

All the electrics worked on Amana microwave EXCEPT for the cooking function. Inspected the control board and found the upper switch on the door interlock was burnt. Installed new switch in minutes and everything now works fine. Unfortunately, had to purchase expensive two switch "kit" although only one switch was kaput. PartsSelect mailing was SUPER fast. After unplugging the microwave and removing the screw, I removed the old bulb and put in the new one!! I made sure it was in securely and the difference in the light was awesome! I use this light when I bake bread and let it rise inside the microwave, but DO NOT turn it on. The heat from this light helps the bread to rise properly!!

The problem I have with changing the bulb is my microwave is an overhead one and therefore I cannot tip it on its side to easily replace the bulb. I have to drop the lid down and carefully install the new bulb from underneath.

Due to the way the appliance was installed, it was impossible to get to the outer vent grille mounting screws. My husband was finally able to pry the grille cover off with a screwdriver. I was finally able to clean the grille cover and replace the filter. The grille cover no longer fits as tightly as it should because part of it broke off, but it will do. The builder did not consider maintenance when installing the appliance.

Since others reported similar problems and it was just the fuse we tried that first. That wasn't the problem so we ordered the Door Interlock Switch Kit. Shipping was very fast! Our microwave had 3 switches. My husband asked how to know which one to switch. I read that one person just did process of elimination. Luckily ours worked on the first change out! So happy to have stumbled across this site and not have to buy a whole new microwave.

Ordered the switches from Partselect, arrive in two days. Had trouble removing the plastic connectors from the old switch terminals, one of the plastic protectors broke, but was able to reuse it. It took a little figuring out how to remove the existing switches. Must push in a tab and rotate the switch on a little pin, then remove. Must be careful not to break the plastic tabs holding the switches in place. Replaced all (3) switches at the same time. All in all it was pretty easy.
