removed grill cover, removed bulb plate, unscrew bulb, screw new bulb in socket,put bulb cover back on and screw grill cover back on. no issues whatsoever.

For grease filter, just slipped it in outside area. For charcoal filter, unscrewed the top of microwave and replaced existing filter, then screwed back the top.

I didn't do the repair -- my husband did, said it was easy, had no problems what so ever! The new bulbs give a lot more light to the cooking area.

I took the old one off and put the new one up opened the door to do it and used a magnetic phillips screwdriver.I did not need help from the husband .

First let me say that I tried several places to get what I thought was a simple light bulb. This included several national hardware stores as well as a national electrical supply company. No luck. You had alerted that it was imperative to unplug unit before starting to remove defective bulb. As described, there was silicon on bulb and socket and bulb broke upon my attempt to remove. Had to use needle nose pliers to get metal base of old bulb from socket, then all went well.

My daugher used the vent grill on the microwave as a handhold while putting dishes away in the cupboard and broke it. I found the part via the Whirlpool website. When the part arrived I removed the two screws, placed the new vent grill in place and replaced the screws. Total time: About 10 minutes.

A plastic tab, 1 of 3, on the plastic replacement vent grill had to be hand filed to make it fit in the slot on the microwave. The other 2 were fine. It is an obvious quality control issue from the manufacturer's injection mold or inspection process that allowed the extra plastic to remain on the tab.
