AEM433 Speed Queen Dryer - Instructions

You have to take apart the whole dryer to get to the belt.Nut driver with cordless drill make it go so much faster.Unplug dry, take apart dryer and replace with olr belt with new belt.Takes about 20 minutes to do.plus I took off the two guide wheels on back of cabinet and greased everything.Works like brand new.I had a repair guy tell me I needed a new motor.If you can spin the drum by hand replace belt first.

I ordered the part. ( I should have ordered just in case it happens again.) When it got here it took less than a minute to snap it in.

Pulled the old knob off and replaced with new knob
PartSelect sent me the exact part you can't tell the difference.

Lifted the top of the dryer removed two screws and pulled the front of the Dryer forward. Slipped the new belt over the drum and over the motor pulley.
Pushed the front back in place and snapped the top of the dryer down and the job was complete.
I thought the part would take three days to get here.
It was delivered the day after I ordered it.

used one nut driver, basically took the whole machine apart. took snap ring off the idler shaft, replaced pulley, and put it back together. simple job.

removed the lower cover, tipped the dryer on its back for easier access, unscrewed the 2 mounting screws removed the heating element, installed the thermostat and and high tempt relay on new one replaced the wires reinstalled the new element, very simple

Determined no air flow or heat through system even though dryer spun and timer worked. Ouside vent dispelled no air. Opened dryer panel.
Blower wheel/fan broken off from shaft. Googled appliance parts ... found ... Partselect .... keyed in mfg, model number ... schematics available ... found part ... ordered ... received in two days ... installed ... reassembled. Working fine ! $ 30.00 compared to buying new dryer ! This was a refreshing and rewarding repair. If it could always be this smooth !!! Great resource ... PARTSELECT !

Removed 2 screws on the bottom of front panel of dryer & pulled it off. Next I got down & looked to the back & bottom inside of the dryer. I spyed the heating element,I pulled off the two wires from the thermostats[ orange & black. I removed two screws from the heating element plate & dropped it down & removed it from the dryer. Reverse procedure to reinstall. Will see if we can get another 10 years service out of it.

removed the front of dryer panel below the door. Cleaned out all the lint. Pulled two screws with an extended nut driver. slid out the old element. I dentified the part . ordered, when the part came in I put a few simple componets on the new, slid it back in. Turned on the power to make sure it was working then reinstalled the front cover. works fine

removed old element, relaced with new element , thermostat dryer works better than it has in along time

replaced the limit thermostat,thermal fuse, and cycling thermostat. Bingo. Problem solved. Noticed that the back of cycling thermostat had a buildup of lint and I'm wondering if that acted as insulation and caused a wrong reading of temperature. Did not have to disassemble dryer as I could reach all parts with lower front panel removed. To make it easer to install new parts with one hand I lightly hot glued the screws through the new parts and taped the upper portion of new part to bulkhead. With everything lined up and no need to hold the screws I was able to attach using one hand. It was a reach but easily done.

Took apart front of dryer, took out tub, replaced pully wheel, put tub back in with new belt, and put front back on. I would recomend replacing wear pads when doing this type of job.

Fairly easy to repair once I figured out how to get it apart. The amazing part of this was searching the web for the part. I found PartSelect, ordered it at about 2pm Eastern time and the part arrived the next day! I will definitely use this service again.
