A3316ABSFRWW General Electric Refrigerator - Instructions

I ordered two switches, replaced both with a knife in 10 minutes. Interior light works, thanks.

The original design is poor. The evaporator fan is mounted in an upright position just below the ice-maker. A plastic grate mounts over the fan assembly to allow for air circulation. Unfortunately, random chips of ice from the ice maker can fall into the fan, causing the fan to shear its blades. Replacement of the fan blade is relatively simple (accept for having to completely unload the freezer and remove all back covers, the ice-maker auger motor assembly, and the metal evaporator cover). In order to mimimze this from reoccuring, I installed a 1/4'' mesh metal screen over the exhaust ports on the cover. Thus far, this has worked well to keep ice chips out of the evaporator fan.

First, remove the cardboard cover on the back, lower portion of the refrigerator.

Next, locate the condensor fan motor assembly and blade. (Right side as you are facing)

Using a pliers, hold the shaft to keep it from turning and prevent damage to the motor. Using a screwdriver, slide the old ring compression on the blade shaft toward the motor (away from the fan blades) to loosen.

Remove old blade from the shaft by firmly grasping the motor shaft with a pliers (to prevent from damaging) and pull the blade assembly off.

Reverse the above steps to attach the new blade.

I found instructions on the web about how to do this repair, so I ordered the part with confidence. But the instructions simply said "pull out the old switchlight". That was actually somewhat difficult as the clip on the side intended to hold the part in was stubborn. I eventually used a utility to slice off the clip. From that point, it was just a matter of plugging in the new switchlight , which was very simple.

The repair only required removing nthe old cover and installing the new one. What I was really surprised about is the time for delevery. I ordered the part on Friday morning around 11 AM and it was delevered by Fed Ex at 8:30 AM on Saturday morning. I am not sure how many locations they have, but this must have been close to Harrisburg, Pa.

I popped out the old plastic shelf and slid in the new one. It was self explanatory and took less than one minute with no tools.

I order the small part and installed it myself, it was very easy with "part select". I will refer them and use them in the future. Thanks parts select.

After reading the trouble shooting section of the owners manual, I determined, without much difficulty, that the temp control was defective. I checked some local outlets and found the prices running from $36.00 and up. The same part from this site was around $20.00. Guess where I bought mine! It arrived in a timely fashion, and I installed it with no problem, in about 10 - 15 minutes. This was a very easy job, just remove and replace three wires snap the unit into place, and screw the cover on. Tip: I always use you tube or another source to get some instruction, just in case I'm not as smart as I think I am!

Took the bracket out of box and install it like the video showed me..very easy to install..

This was so easy. Got the model number off the refrigerator door. Internet searched and found this website. Ordered the part. Waited maybe 3-4 days for it to arrive. Opened the box, open refrigerator door remove old broken part, install new part and reinstall the drawers. Piece of cake!! So glad I didn’t have to replace a perfectly good refrigerator. Thank you.
